ZooKeeper wont coin up. In fact the test switches on the inside of the coin door do not work either. All connections have been reseated. The game is fine in attract mode though. What could be causing this?

Coin processor board going bad, if it's still in there that is. If so remove it and have Steph at hobby roms burn you the bypass rom. Mine did crazy stuff until I did it. - Barry
Yes, it's the board mounted off to the side. The coin door harness plugs in one side and the other has a short harness to the pcb. Just pull it out and connect the coin door harness to the pcb. You'll have the short cable left over. I can't remember off the top of my head which rom gets replaced, I want to say 19, but Steph will know. - Barry
Cool, I actually hooked mine up wrong after I had the cab gutted and when I reinstalled it none of the coin door stuff worked. I bypassed the board, then it worked but went wacky when I tried to change settings or coin up. I installed the rom and it's been good ever since. Let me know how it works out - Barry

A couple things to check that I can think of....
Did you get the coin board out of the loop?
Check the connection of the control panel at the panel and the board.
Can you get into test mode? ( I think you can test the inputs there)
When you say you have 5 credits is that because you put 5 credits on it? If not it sounds like the coin processor board is still in the loop...
Let me know, I'm not a ZK expert by any means but I had some trouble getting mine running so I'm happy to try and help - Barry

I pulled the connected off of the PCB that was for the CP and reseated it. Then zookeeper's player 1 works now but the joystick moves the zookeeper in back and forth. Not up and down. The jump button does not work either??
Mine started doing that, it was an earth problem, check your earth wires.

Barry,
I bypassed the board. I simply moved the molex connector to the main board that was plugged into the coin processor board. So now it is bypassed.
The connections look fine. I cannot get into test mode what so ever. I say 5 credits because once I installed the rom from hobbyroms, it displays 5 credits all the time now.
Agreed, sounds like a ground problem but the schematic showing the same ground feeding all the switches. The connectors at the pcb are known for problems. I had a voltage issue on my Qix that was solved by fixing the connector. You may also want to pull the control panel and check the grounds there.
Try pulling the connector for the control panel at the pcb and look at the socket as well to make sure it's making connection. Can you use the test switches now? - Barry
Replace them. - Barry
The connector's clips were all corroded. Even though I should replace the actual wires as well, I simply replaced all of the clips, reseated them into the molex connector and everything worked! I set the game to free play and played 3 straight games! I was very happy! Also, My Jungle King exhibits a no response from time to time and it is possible it could be the same issue? I will look into it next time that happens.
Thanks Barry and everyone else for getting my zookeeper back to playable condition!
YEAH!!
