Ok, what other Taito games used the exact same control panel as zookeeper? any of them? And the big one.. what would the interest level be in a brand new zookeeper cabinet with full art, multi Taito board installed, so you could have a more or less new zookeeper machine? Price would definately be somewhere between 1100 - 1600 depending on what has to go into the project, but you'd be getting a new machine with no used parts on it. Coin door may have to be different, but i don't think it would take away from the overall quality and look of the machine. Opinions please!! One way or another, i will be bringing out an all new fully working reproduction machine this year.. i just don't know what one yet!

either Lcd or 8liners.com has monitors still

I won't be in a position to buy something like this.

But, if I were, no LCDs in an upright or cocktail cabinet for me.

Dooode! You can just buy a multi-Taito board for ~$300, a jamma to Taito adapter, slap those puppies in your Taito cabaret and VIOLA you have a multi-Taito for <$400. You're welcome! :)

By the way, I paid on your low end for a multi-Taito in a restored EA Taito cab, so I think you're on the money there. Now if you can just get enough KLOVers to bite at just North of 10 bills. :) I'd consider it if I did not already have this bought and on the way eventually.

Id be interested in a new cab with Bezel and Marquee. I already have everything else tucked away :) Since you'd be using the multi board Id also look at doing control panels elevator action style with two buttons.

On a side note someone really needs to Repro the bezel and marquee

The lcd would be an optional thing of course. I just think it would be awesome to pick a game, and make a reproduction of it. Still kicking around centipede cabarets with used game boards.

I think you'd make a lot more doing a rarer cabaret. I'd be in for a Robotron. :D I hope making a reproduction complete game becomes a reality, sounds like a coll project.

the robotron mini.. well, i'd have to find one to copy, then Jrok would need to release another run of williams boards, so you can play without hunting down original boards, wiring, all the stuff that would make it not new. I'm sure it's doable.

Another idea might be to make a game into a cabaret that was not originally done in cabaret format. It would not take a whole lot (in my opinion, I could be wrong) to "morph" a Centipede cabaret cab template into say a Food Fight cabaret.

Put me on the list, I'll take one. I have the multi board already.

well, the big problem with choosing a game to remake from scratch is parts availability. Art, control panels, boards, there's very few games you can buy all the parts and only need a cabinet to install it to.

Good point, I guess I was thinking from a "cool" factor instead of a realistic one... :)

I would probably be interested in the new full reproduction ZK, but would definitely need an authentic arcade monitor installed instead of the LCD.

Also, what are you thinking in regards to the bezel, marquee and CPO? Would these all be Zookeeper artwork new reproductions?

Thanks,

Jim

the only option on the bezel and marquee are solvent jet, sandwiched between lexan. Only the CPO is available currently in silkscreened. Not to say someone wont do silkscreened later on, and they could be replaced.
