One of my ZK CPU boards has different voltages in different areas...see pic below.

As the pic shows, I have 4.980v at the +5 header pins(it used to be a drizzle over +5 last I checked about 6 months ago)...the other 3 boards also get 4.980v across the chips....so close enough to +5???

The game still plays OK, but I have noticed some subtle but strange goings on during gameplay since the voltage drops in the areas shown in the pic??

I have an ATX power supply, so can't pump up the juice a bit.

My question is, what might have caused the voltage drops?

EDIT...the blue RAM area is actually 4.920v...I put the wrong voltage in the pic

Thanks for any insight!

Either your power-supply is weakening or aging components on your ZK board are drawing more current ... or both.

I would swap out the power supply with something you can adjust and ensure that the lowest voltage you measure ON THE PCB is above +5V. Then if you still have issues, it's time to troubleshoot.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I wasn't sure if those ATX PS do actually "weaken" or just fail, period?

I wanted to avoid it if possible, but I will install a switcher.

For my own educational purposes, can someone tell me if it's possible(technically) that data is being slightly corrupted by the different voltages, or doesn't it work like that??

Apon further examination (I have swapped 2 other working ZK boardsets) in and out of the cab.

All 3 boardsets exhibit the same voltage readings...that is the +5v are reading low, AND the -5v are reading high at -5.150v at the 4116 chips.

So I can safely assume that most likely the PS is on it's way out??????

Thanks for any confirmation before I rip this PS out!
