I was lucky enough to pick up this bad boy last week. The guy I bought it from had it in his basement for 21 years. It also had the original manual and monitor and paperwork. It booted to a RAM error but after some research here and there I tried replacing the battery with one that I had from a cordless phone I don't use anymore. That seemed to do the trick. I have a lithium backup on order as well as a replacement test switch as the right one had literally fallen apart. Aside from that, this baby is beautiful. I'm not a huge fan of the game and will most likely sell or trade it as I'm looking for a STTNG pin. That or I'm thinking about building a virtual pin as I don't have a lot of room and space is scarce. Either way it is cool to get it up and running again.

First off, CONGRATS!

Hey, is your cordless phone battery working well? Saving scores? What maH rating did you use? I have one on mine but it's not reliable. I am wondering if it has something to do with th mah.

I used a 3.6V 300MaH. Same specs as the other it seems. So far it's holding, but I'll know more once the other is in.

Do you know how to play it the right way? ZK is such a great game once you get a better understanding of it. Those don't show up often. I will never get rid of mine.

Agreed! It would take alot to let go of my Zoo Keeper. Most people that play mine become addicted.

You should bulletproof that thing. Get the coin processor board bypass rom and get the arcadeshop switcher with adapter. A small investment to take care of the weak points of the game. - Barry

Nice!!

I was second in line for that game :) I was gonna snake it, but actually went to South Dakota for a bulk buy. Lucky bastard.

LOL, I saw that bulk buy you posted. That was an excellent pick up. It was pretty much 10 minutes from your place too. When I pulled up I half expected to see your truck there.

Reminder to anyone reading... if you move to a different region please remember to update your location in your profile. I emailed the link to this thread last night to a friend in the Portland area alerting him that a Zoo Keeper may potentially be for sale near him, and he wrote back to say he knew who the seller is and that he had moved to Colorado. I took this to mean the games had moved with him.

Not a criticism; just a suggestion. Thanks... :)

Whoops, you're right. I totally forgot to update my location. I moved to Portland for a while and moved back to Denver. The Portland group P.A.C. are some of the nicest folks around. I still get comments on my P.A.C. tee I wear here. I just changed the location. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused folks.

No inconvenience at all. And yeah, the PAC guys are great. I go down there to visit every chance I get.
