If the NVRAM is socketed, just pull it off and fill it with 0xff using an EPROM programmer (I think it's common for them to support NVRAM devices).

I use to do that on old calcomp plotters when they would get corrupted. Thanks for the great advice. I will try it out the next time I am down there and I'll post the results. Thanks once again..
