Does anyone know where I can find a this connector for my Zookeeper sound board? A pin broke as I was taking it out and my game won't boot up now. Thanks.

This is exactly why I will live with my HS table erasing every time I turn my ZK off. I'm scared to death of moving anything on that PCB. A pin on the soundboard breaks and the whole game wont boot up? That sucks :(

Thanks for the link. It's going to be tough to find on their site. If anyone has and tips on finding it please let me know. Manual just says 50 pin connector header.

Yea, it sucks that I fixed my friend's board set which hasn't worked in 5 years. The sound went out shortly after I got it working and now mine broke while trying to fix his.

Someday I'll be lucky enough to have my very own ZK...

If you could call them and ask for tech support, then send an e-mail with a picture of it - I bet that person would know....

Thanks I might give that a try. I asked Riptor if he had any. He doesn't but said you can find them off Ebay.

Could you post a link if you find a source, I could do with a few too.

Apply filters for rectangular, 0.100" / 2.54mm, 50 pin, 2 rows. I find it easier to search at mouser because they have catalog pages:

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogUSD/644/1530.pdf

Lots of options with or without the latches. Browse the surrounding pages and look for whatever you want.

Thanks Joey! I may order a few different ones and I'll follow up with a link once I find the one that works best.

Now that's funny....
50 pin without latches.....$4.42
Same thing, but with latches...$8.62!!!! Almost double the price!

....or you can buy the latches separately @ $.19 a latch.....and snap them in yourself. WTF?

I emailed Bob Roberts earlier asking if he had the connector and he replied back.

"If you mean the header pic'd no, but you can easily fix that if you have an
old parts bd with a similar header.
On the old bd... for practice... have someone hold a pin with needle-nose
pliers while you heat the soldered end. As soon as it is hot enough the pin
should pull right out completely. Clean it up & then heat up the broken pin
you want to replace. You'll need to pull it out the back or you can heat it
& push it up enough for your buddy to pull it out with the needle-nose the
same as on the old bd. Then it's just a matter of getting the whole, clean
pin back into the housing & soldering it in place."

I pulled some pins off an old Bally MPU and replaced the broken pin. It's a little shorter but it worked! Thanks for the help.

Zk

I pop mine out weekly to test other people's boards.. Haven't had an issue yet :) fingers crossed.. Just solder on a cordless phone battery on the CPU.. It's the easiest way to save high scores.. Or there is the watch battery and nvram, but those have a few more steps :)

I just modded 4 CPU pcbs with HS saves yesterday.. 3 work perfectly, one doesn't.. Oh well
