I have received many RAM type errors on this board set. All rams on mpu replaced with 4116n ram. I still get the errant U48 or U17 error and Video Board Color RAM led configuration but the most consistent lights popping up is Communication RAM Addressing. On the sound board U2 microprocessor is blazing hot. The manual refers to the data processor being on the sound board. Any thoughts on what to check out or try? The screen just shows a wavy purple with lines through it. I can not get any signs of life out of it.

I don't have any extra parts for test purposes so I was hoping someone may have run into this and can help get me further along.

Thanks

Zookeeper had a battery and boards often have acid damage from it leaking. Best solution is usually a Fluke 9010, run a memory test, and use that info to find a broken connection. In combination use a DMM and check point-to-point that the addr/data bus traces are intact between the CPU and the ROM/RAM.

You're usually dealing with PCB trace failure and need to find an open-circuit somewhere.

Will check that stuff. Do you know if the board is supposed to have a chip at U19 on the sound board? Mine does not.

Thanks.
