Zoo Keeper "When All Else Fails" I finally got a working one!

Yes I had a Zoo Keeper for about 8 months to a year and could not get it working. Two other people have tried and had no luck / time. So I had happen to run across another Zoo Keeper that had been converted to a Jamma game. I started to convert it back, then thought to myself, why would I do this if I can't even get my first one working. So I did a little search for another Multi Taito board after selling the one I tried to hold onto, but never ended up using. So one falls into my hands. I jumped on this machine right after receiving the board and rewired this baby for the multi board. I put it so you can get to the menu by pushing in the coin reject button and added a volume knob inside the door. I also included the extra button for the games that require two buttons. I tried to keep it looking as original as I could. Sure it's not dedicated, but it is working. I sold my dedicated machine about a week ago and now I'm headache free plus very happy being able to play Zoo Keeper, Elevator Action & Jungle Hunt. The other not to familiar with. Now that all my Taito machine are working I will repaint all the black areas this winter and I'll be done finally!!!

Also wanted to say thanks to those that took time out to help me try to get my dedicated one working, but sorry I just do have the time and patients to spend 8 hours a day working on one machine. I have to many other thing to work on. I'm happy now that I can move on.

Glad you got it working. I have been thinking about going this route myself. I'm not giving up yet! :)

Atleast yours semi works or did. I never got no change out of mine since I had it. Purchased a working main board and all new rams and still nothing. You tried to walk me through a couple of things and still nothing. The person that bought it has a working one already so that will help him out big time and should be abel to narrow the problem down. As for me I'll take a wroking one either way and know that I wont have to hope and pray everytime I flick that on/off switch.

I hear you..I have one that works sometimes..sometimes it don't..lately it hasn't worked at all...I've swapped out the bad 2114's many times...and still nothing..I really hate this software..these boards are just a pain..the ribbon cables...flaky boards...fun when they work though..

Yeah that's pretty much what I hear from most people that own one. I would've love to have the dedicated one, but I couldn't take the headache and having to pull my machine out all the time. I diffently don't mind the Taito Multi and I get to have my other two games back (Elevator Action & Jungle Hunt) that I had to sell due to space.

One of these days I'm going to really dig into this board and try to find the major issues and bulletproof this if possible..but seems the issues move around making it difficult to nail down the troublespots..
