Just got a non working zoo keeper project. Monitor comes on with nothing but whiteness (monitor tested as good) and board LEDs are 01 1000 U17. I have the Arcadeshop switcher adapter hooked up and yes I know about the 3 interlocks, pull two and close the coin door for the third.

I have tried swapping a few of the ram but same error. I have the RAM on order but is there anything else I can try while waiting.

If you keep getting the same error at the same location, even with swapping in known working ram.. then the socket is bad.. or you aren't getting enough power to the cpu pcb.. even though you have a new ps, you still need to test the voltage on the pcb.. may need to adjust it a bit.. There aren't any test points labeled, but if you look at the schematic you'll see where you can test the +5 on a chip leg..

Just looked at the pics.. seems like the battery is still on that pcb.. Cut it off! and replace it with a cordless phone battery or watch battery

Thanks for the ideas.
1st thing I did was to replace that battery.

Battery

Ahh.. Couldn't tell from the pic.. As it's a good idea to install the battery off the CPU pcb.. As any and every battery can and will prolly leak at some point.. Just had some double a batteries that were less than a few month old start leaking in one of my pins :(

Good suggestion, also make sure your getting -5vdc at the RAM. If not, it makes the processor do funny diagnostics for those RAM.
