I picked up a Zoo Keeper last Friday and it needs some attention. A few repairs and some major cleaning and it will be good to go.

Today I stripped the CP overlay off and ordered a repro. I still need to order new buttons. I also gutted the cabinet so I can repair the bottom of the cab and build a new base. I also started the cleaning.

I thought this would be my "winter project", but after playing a few games last night I realized the sooner the better. Here's a couple before pics and some progress pics. - Barry

wtg looking good. Did you get it back working before you torn it apart? What ended up being wrong with it?

It was working before I tore it down. Turned out to be a bad power supply. I pulled the PS from my Qix and Dokert helped me dial it in. - Barry

Was able to get a couple things done the past couple days between other household projects.

The wood trim above the marquee was loose so I picked up a flavor injector, loaded it with wood glue and injected the area and clamped it.

I reinstalled the vent in the bottom of the cab and started the long process of getting some overspray off the cab. I also cleaned up the marquee today. - Barry

Got it cleaned up and started reassembly. There is some red speckles of overspray on the left side of the cab. Normally I'd use goof off, but it seems a little harsh for this application. So for now I'm going to live with it until I find something to pull it off with no damage. Some progress pics from today. - Barry

Got the back door swapped with the Qix. My overlay showed up so I installed that as well. Just a few more things to do. - Barry

Got it mostly done tonight just waiting for a couple buttons to show up. I powered it up and it came on with the settings screen, then powered down and up and the PS took a dump. Fortunately I have an Arcadeshop switcher and Taito adapter coming so it will be alive soon...... - Barry

So I got the arcadeshop power supply quite some time ago and hooked it up and nothing. I realized I hoooked up a couple plugs wrong then I had the standard "memory failure" message but the switches in the coin door wouldn't advance or change the settings. I bypassed the coin door board and I could adjust the switches, but then the settings went nuts.

I ordered the coin bypass rom from Steph at hobbyroms. I finally had timne to mess with it tonight andthe results were very nice....... - Barry
