I would like opinions, and i think I'm going to install them anyway for extra support besides authenticity but if you had a new bases with you re-install these metal brackets?

Or leave them off??

Put a nice think oil base glossy white coat on the sides. They were already nice but in black, and ive learned over time vinyl loves glossy smooth surfaces and if you put it on think enough it has time to level out as it sets up to cure...

So buy this time next week after the paint has cured and gassed out, i should be able to wrap the side panels..

I went with texture leatherette style t-molding from tmolding.com and that should be here by then...

Thats a wrap for sat night!

Nice progress so far! Can't wait to see it all put together.

I'd go with the original metal brackets on the base.

Working on the base of this thing. Trying to tidy up and retain what was left of this thing, which oddly enough is all that i needed. The interlock switch was hacked strangely, I removed bypassed it, but kept that front lower switch there, love that about taito cabs. Installed switcher, and monitor and lighting harness for marquee and also the bezel instructions and testing to make sure the voltages are correct....

Also going to install some support brackets in the back lower kick panel. And install the base!

Installing the base... little trick I learned from another field on how to draw things together or move from left to right... I install these corner brackets for to reasons....

1- added support, as if it was needed with the new red oak hardwood base that will never die probably...

2- see this picture...

.

Buy installing this screw off center of the hole... when ever that counter sunk, hole and tappered head screw meet, its going to center its self wether you want to or not. Drawing what ever is attached a "c hair" in what ever direction it was off center.

So i use them to suck the base up tight against the bottom of the cab. Then i can install the original screws as they were intended and this thing will stay put and not shift around while im doing it.

And its bonus extra support...

Also found some wheels in my stash to install because the originals are long gone and these things are handy for pulling machines out when in line with others...

I ended up bending these extra brackets i had from the base and shoring up this top part of the cab and it was mega successful.. that piece is only braded together and so i wanted to clamp it and secure it well. Worked good actually..

Going to rough it up and put a coat of satin black on the top and marquee area and get it ready to go

The previous painter left some narly drips and i don't want to sand like crazy i just want a smooth nice surface.. so i plained them off with a nice new razor so i can just smooth it out level

Worked like a champ can hardly even tell they were there and i can take some super fine paper, scuff and spray lol

They are the metal corner brackets that mount to the base...

I pre drilled and installed screws as they use to be into new base but i used lath screws, i really like these screws because they are intended for wood but have a larger head with a built in washer
