Zoo keeper $1200- Really!?

1200 WOW. if he values games that much make him an offer on a trade. trade some other game and a couple bucks to close the deal.

worth a try if you really want the game but can't or won't pay 1200

I'd pay a tidy sum for a beautiful Zoo Keeper for my collection. I know there are others who would also pay for a nice Zoo Keeper.

This is why it is reasonable for me and some others to think that we would have a nice Zoo Keeper in our collections some day, and it is unreasonable for some of you to think the same.

I mean, come on guys, some of these games just aren't listed on Craigslist on a regular basis, if ever. You have to pay for that.

Am I advocating $1200? No. But a real nice Zoo Keeper isn't going to be had for $600.

Can't say your wrong. i would love to have the game.

It's just that the games i have, I don't want to give up. just for this game. The guy bought the game at that price. But nice idea though.

Well he's a lie!! I knew it!! just joking. but, Here's his exact words from the email for you to interpret.

"it is only 1 of 500 machines that Taito produced with the graphics on the cabinet and that is why it more expensive because of the high quality of the condition it is in and the graphics."

Highly doubt it. The dedicated machines (a few thousand, probably) all had the orange & blue side art AFAIK. The rest (with just "Taito" on the side) are conversions (mostly from Qix, I'm guessing).

I have not seen exact production numbers for the dedicated cabinets or conversion kits (just the vague "1900 according to 1983 market reports" from Scott Patterson). However, the game came out in 1982 so it's not clear if that number includes what was made in the first few months of production.

I'd like to know where this seller is getting their information from.

Me too... never replied to the rest of my emails.

i think nice ones can be had for 600$ i have seen them go for that. i would feel dirty asking over 800 for one that is not MINT or restored

I don't disagree, but it still isn't common. Then, if you are lucky, you won't have to ship it. If you do have to ship it, now its $1000 to $1200 again.

I'd rather buy a beauty locally for $1200 than a beauty across the country for $600 and then had to risk shipping. That $200 you save may or may not be worth it.

I forgot the orange with the blue stencil. There is no special blue-only color scheme, and I have never heard of a full color scheme.

He's making that up, there were more than 500 produced with the dedicated ZK artwork.

$1200 is a lil steep but they are pretty rare unless its minty then its worth it
