I've read that Zoo Keeper was affected by the video game crash, and that's why some parts - like boardsets - are harder to find.

But, weren't other Taito games like Elevator Action and Jungle King released around the same time? Plenty of parts to be found there...

hmm..klov says it was produced in 1982. I'd have thought the crash would have had more impact on games 1983 and beyond...dunno.

I'm guessing it wasn't a very popular title when it came out as the gameplay is unique and not easily grasped right away...I remember trying it briefly as a kid then spending my quarters on games I knew how to play.

I played it all the time as a young kid. Jump over the animals and keep them trapped. Doesn't get much simpler although the high level play can get quite complex obviously.

I only recall seeing ZK on Starcade.... not many arcades that i frequented had the game. I think it may have been one that just didn't attract many ops to purchase for their route or location.
