Hello gentlemen,

There is a hotel in Fargo who is replacing all of the tube TVs in their rooms (approximately 250 units) with LCDs. They are giving away their old 25 inch Zeniths. I have heard of this happening before (Yahoo) with the same model number of TVs being replaced at another hotel. The tube models are H2522DT, H2534Y3, and H2530Y. The ohm readings for the yoke are almost identical between these three models: Vertical between 4.8-6.4ohms, horizontal between 1.5-1.6ohms. These readings are not consistent with any chassis values I know of so I assume a yoke swap would be required. I like the idea of having the opportunity to get several free 25-inch tubes to have on hand, but I do not have any experience with yoke swaps and none of my games have bad enough burn in to require a replacement. I come to you all for guidance. Thanks in advance.

using the yokes with the 6.4ohms a K7000 should work fine.

are those the complete tube #'s if so they are not compatible.
the adapter is cr-23 and heater is 6.3v but the G1 is only 30v and needs to be 50v.

if they are compatible the other tube masters will chime in.

Peace
Buffett

Thanks for the info buffett. Yes, those are the complete tube numbers (as far as I can tell, unless I am missing something).

if they are compatible the other tube masters will chime in.

I hope they do my good man.

I was hunting a hantarex polo 25 chasis for awhile. The readings I got was 5.6 and 1.6. Seems to be inline with what you listed. The tube itself was a zenith also if I recall....

for advanced CRT tube questions I would post in another forum like curtpalme.com or avsforum (both have CRT areas, start with curt first)

I think it would be dim if I remember correctly, but will it damage the cathode? In FP or RP CRT TV/Monitors this issue came up once in a while trying to replace tubes that were different models.

The numbers you post look to me like the model of the TV. The tube number is on the sticker on the glass tube itself. A 25" most likely will begin with A63.....

I personally wouldn't touch these. While I'm not a tube-swap expert, Zenith CRTs, from what I have seen, have had the shortest lifespan before having an unacceptable picture, and given that these were in hotel rooms, were likely heavily used.

Thank you. I was unaware of those sites.

I agree with you completely about that. The problem is…… this is also the number on the stickers located on the glass tube. I cannot find any other numbers anywhere on the tube (or chassis for that matter).

I wanted to put this picture on here just to show you that I am not crazy. :)

Regardless, I had to go through several of them before I found one with tube # on it.

A63AGD01X

A63AGD01X = 6.3 volts heater, 50 volts G1, CR23 adapter

That checks out good for arcade monitor use.

The yoke specs you measured on it will probably work on the Wei-ya chassis that Alva Amusement sells like the 825H.

Probably work ok in a 25" K7000.

Ah....thank you Mr. Layton.

I have one of these A63AGD01X tubes lying around my workshop. If anyone near me needs a 25" tube please come by and pick it up. I don't have any 25" games anymore, and it's just in my way. If it's not gone by the next free recycling day....
