Sorry for the MAME question, but I know the ZVG gets some love around here.

The Zektor site says that their G05-802/805 cable must be modified for Asteroids Deluxe power supplies? Can anyone tell what the mod is? I think it's just the 30VAC pins are different. Correct?

They (Zektor) have a pin labeled "CT". What is that? Neutral?

I would ask them for sure, but the difference in the power bricks are from pin 10 to pin 15. Asteroids is:
10 - 80VAC
11 - 65VAC
12 - X-Y return (center tap) (AC 'ground')
13 - 65VAC
14 - 80VAC
15 - chassis ground

Deluxe etc is:
10 - 60VAC
11 - center tap
12 - 60VAC
13 - 60VAC
14 - center tap
15 - 60VAC

So I'd guess you'd need to move pin 11 to pin 10 or 13, move pin 12 to pin 11 or 14, and move pin 13 to pin 12 or 15.

CT is Centre Tap

Yes! Thank you. I had come to the same conclusion, but it's great to have a second pair of eyeballs.

I was up really late last night playing vector games on my ZVG'ed Asteroids Deluxe cab. Nirvana!

So for any visitors from the future who stumble across this thread, there are 4 errors/changes in the Zektor cable schematics when connecting a G05-802/805 to an AD power brick:

1. pins 11,12,13 should go onto pins 10,11,12
2. It's 60VAC not 30VAC
3. The monitor plug is a 12 pin Amp connector, not 15 pin as listed in the inventory.
4. cable pin 8 connecting to the power brick must be female

Interesting, cheers, probably not a combination which is used often, so great info.

How many games were playable with the buttons you had?

I have a prototyped layout on MDF board with the Asteroids layout plus two joysticks. I'm adding a spinner. I think that will just about fill up the CP.
