For that matter, even saw one at an arcade? I never knew of it's existence till the early 2,000's. I was always intrigued w/ this because of some of the parallels w/ Space Fury - which I love!

Any fans or owners want to chime in and discuss about this gem. Comparisons to other vectors out there. Or how you acquired one?

I cant say I ever seen one in an arcade so I never played one till I installed Clay Cowgills Multi Sega in my Star Trek but it wasn't much fun without the correct sound board. Now I have one of Vector Labs SEGA multi games installed with all the sound cards so I can now play Zektor as well as all the other SEGA vector games in all their glory.

Going by the overwhelming responses here, I'm going to say a lot of people are in the "didn't see it Bitd camp".

Never heard of it until MAME. It's a great game though... I'd LOVE to get my one of those Sega Multi's... some day.

I remember reading about it years ago, and that there were only some 50 dedicated/kit machines made. Have no idea if that's an accurate number.

I've never seen any mention of a complete, fully working boardset (though I'm sure they're out there). I do remember a partial boardset being sold some 10 odd years ago, and that it took a chance find in a warehouse full of parts to locate a chip or chips to complete the set and make it working...

I played one back in the day at Putt Putt Golf and Games in Columbia.

It didn't stand out very much and was probably a kit as they had Space Fury and Tac Scan there at different times.

I've only seen a couple of board sets up for sale. The sound board is shared between Zektor and Eliminator with some mods. That said, you don't see may Eliminator's either. The CPU/EPROM/speech boards just need chips swapped though.

I played one quite often at an arcade in Edmonton, Alberta... can't remember if it was a wizards castle or not. I often wonder if its sitting in someones basement... but it was probably converted and tossed like so many Segas.

The most rare games I played, like Aztarac though showed up in the arcade tent that travelled around with the yearly fair for some odd reason.

I never saw an Aztarac, but I recall a Sundance (and a Tail Gunner) that showed up the same way- with the SC State Fair arcade tent once a year.
