ZEKTOR is selling the last run of Zektor Vector Generators (ZVG)

To all vector heads and anyone who repairs vector monitors -- Zonn is selling the last batch of ZVGs on the Zektor Site:

http://www.zektor.com/store/shopping.shtml

Note: There are Vector MAME versions for DOS, Windows, and Linux. The DOS version is released, the Windows and Linux versions are "beta", but the Linux version is being aggressively developed.

The card is amazing and worth having for any Vector fan, even if you don't plan on making a Vector MAME cab.

I want to order one but the $75.43 shipping cost to the Toronto, Canada (when it's $13.00 to Buffalo) is a keeping me from pressing the 'Check Out Now' button. :(

Ive called and sent a couple emails asking if they could send via USPS. Fingers crossed they will make the effort.

I almost ordered one, then saw the parallel port. I haven't had a computer with a parallel port in a long time. Has anyone used a USB to parallel adapter for this? all the ones I have seen strictly support printer function only.

I paid for one and got the order confirmation. Surely it will cut off sales when it's sold out? I say that as I hope I got in.

So, what's the most impressive multi-vector project cabinet that's been done with pics?

Yeah theres another option that's $66.

The box weight says it's 3lbs...that alot for even 3lbs, but what's this card made out of? Lead?

Hopefully my order still counts against available stock. I'll squirrel it away with the RAM Controls Star Wars yoke I bought from another KLOVer.

Add-on cards for PCI and PCI Express are available if you had an interest of adding one and avoiding the USB adapter route

beeeeeeee careful

im not saying it wont work because ive never configured a ZVG board, yet. the eprom burner i bought would not work with the PCI express printer port i bought for my present computer. something about the bandwidth that wouldnt let it communicate with the burner. the computer could "see" the card but no worky

the burner required a LPT1 port that came with the motherboard to work

theres a place up in Kansas City that sells cheap computers for 65 bucks that are 11 years old and have a LPT1 port. Windows 7 can be installed so that might be the answer. could be adding a card will do it. i dont know. if you want a cheap computer, the store is called "the surplus exchange". the comp i bought for 65 had 2 megs of RAM, 40 gig HD, and i had to install win 7. i thought that was cheap enough and works fine with my burner

I hope you get yours but I received this email over 2 hours ago ... which is a little frustrating since I called and sent emails over 6 hours ago when I first received the notification email of the available units:

Hello Kevin,

I'm sorry to say all of the available units have already been sold. We opened up the website for orders and they sold out in a very short amount to time. We've not used our shopping cart in some time and rarely sent items to Canada with it. For some reason when the shipping calculations were loaded for Canada the only options were air freight methods which reflected these high rates. We can ship to Canada UPS ground for around $10.00, it just was not an option in the shopping cart.

On the positive side there has been so much interest that if we continue to see hard orders come in we are considering extending another build (which would require additional PCB's be purchased).

If you would like to be added to this list I would suggest you order the number of units you would like and select "money order" for a payment method on our website. This will not require you authorize a credit card but will put you in this second list, the sooner you do this the higher up on priority you would be. Once we have enough to justify an additional build we will then contact you, make sure you are still interested and then determine the appropriate payment method at that time. Go ahead and select the $75.00 option for now and we can adjust that before we ship.

Jeff

... but I guess it isn't hopeless.

Darn darn darn darn.....

To think I am still at work and maybe had I been able to go home at a normal time I might have gotten an order in.

Oh well......I'm dreading seeing the rejection email.

How many of you speculators ordered 5??
