So my Zektor is getting a little closer. A fellow KLOV member is testing the boardset for me yet - but the working G08 monitor is now installed. The marquee is in place as well as the bezel. The control panel has a fresh overlay on it... now I just need to find a spinner assembly to finish it.
For now I put everything in an old Tac-Scan cabinet that someone converted to a Baseball game. Gotta remove the decals on the side yet.

very nice.. where did you get the art from? marquee, bezel, cpo?
Have them printed?

Thats a game you dont see to often.

I'd love to get a zektor to complete my sega vector set. Havent found
any bits yet.

If anyone has any.. please hook me up:)

Hmm.. is it possible to convert another sega boardset to a zektor?

Nice to see something uncommon like this! The only Sega vector I ever found was a Space Fury cocktail. I was uninterested in the hobby for a few years and sold it for what I paid. In hindsight, I should have kept it, as it was in super clean shape.

I found the boardset, Control panel, and Marquee on a shelf in an ops warehouse.
A guy I know reproduced the bezel and CPO - although I think he only did a couple and I'm not sure if he made that info public or not.

That last one on your list, did that even go into production?

No. It's listed as a protoype. It's pretty fun on M*ME.

Usually rare video games kinda suck. I think as programmers were getting good at writing games on vectors they were going out of fashion.

I forgot Quantum. And Aztarec's not too bad either.

Mike, that's going to be a tall feat. I'm also in the same boat as you since playing a dedicated one some months back. I even contacted people to see if anybody wants to unload parts so I can piece-meal one together. They're definitely not budging! Probably hoping that can get one going themselves...

I do have a contact w/ someone that knows someone who has one. The caveat: he knows how much they go for....which I've come to realization!

As to your last question, I've been told yes... but really don't have details..

Wow, I had no idea the game was that rare! I guess I should count myself lucky that I got my hands on a ZVG board. It might only be VectorMAME but it's better than nothing... when I finally get a cabinet set up for that.

I'd love to build a repro Zektor myself someday. Any possibility of a limited run of the art - marquee, bezel, CP? Surely there's a market for a run of a few dozen art packages. Given that it's one of Sega's 'convert-a-games' (and it's a good one), plus ZVG, or the possibility of a multi-vector, means there could be a good demand for it.
