Hey guys. I'm going to need to do a cap kit for the sound section of the PCB. For those that know , what is the correct way to remove the PCB from the cabinet? Do I have to remove the whole plywood section that includes the power supply and transformer or is there a way to just get the PCB out safely. Thank you.

Should be 2 bolts that hold the piece of wood that has the power supply and everything on it, take those out and it should slide out so you can get to it easier

I took those two front bolts off and it still doesnt move. Not sure why though.

I did the sound cap kit last fall in my Zaxxon, I was able to remove the PCB without removing the power supply. I did pull the entire power supply out later, it was more difficult than you would think. I think there is an extra bolt kind of hidden behind the main supply.

If you do the cap kit and still have missing sounds or sound problems, you might have to replace the op amps in the sound section of the board. The last couple posts of this thread give more detail:

So how did you get the PCB out then? I do see six small screws around the PCBs edge. Are those all that need to come off to free it from the cabinet? Thanks

Exactly.
I just removed the screws that connected the pcb feet to the cabinet. A little hard to get to some of them, but easier than getting that power supply out.
