Zaxxon Cocktail. Is it Weird That I've Never Seen One Before?

Are they common?

I think they are very common. I have seen two different ones in Virginia (I bought one) and at least three different ones in Wasington.

I think a few other Sega games came in the same cab as well. I have seen two cabs converted to other games. They have a vertical 19" monitor and an isolation/step down transformer that has a ton of output voltages including 9v, 12v, 18v, 100v, and 120v. The original monitor runs on 100vac and is in a unique frame as well.

I ended up giving mine away to a guy who was going to convert a Gobbler cocktail to a 60 in 1. I figured converting the common Sega was a lesser sin than converting the only Gobbler I have ever seen and he preferred the Sega control panel configuration and larger monitor space.

I've seen a few of them. That one looks dedicated to me.

The Sega cocktail I'm trying to find images of is a dedicated Pengo cocktail. I *think* this might've been one before conversion, but I'm not sure...

EDIT: never mind. Not sure what the above cocktail was, but Exidy has posted a Monster Bash cocktail in the "rare cocktail" thread that, I think, used the same cabinet as Pengo.

The only one I've seen I had the opportunity to buy this year at a yard sale. It was beat up. I skipped it while I grabbed the two other machines (a Pac cabaret & SI cocktail). While I was loading a friend showed up and he was able to get it for cheap. He was able to save the board and other parts (it was really rough).

Yeah, it is weird that you haven't seen one of these before. :) They aren't real common (like many cocktails) but you'll see them come along occasionally. I actually remember playing a Zaxxon cocktail back when the game was new. I think a few other Sega games came in this cabinet... might have seen Congo Bongo in it as well?
