Zaxxon CL ad - Speechless

Needs outer enclosure:

Zaxxon

Credit where credit is due - he's under no illusions that it's worth $2000 or something, and he didn't just throw the whole mess into the trash can when the cabinet was toast. Keeping the sides is a little odd, if you ask me, but hey, to each his own.

A working Zaxxon board set + power supplies, marquee and monitor - $200 might be a little high, but the monitor alone is worth something, if it's in nice shape. Heck, if I was anywhere in the vicinity I'd definitely offer him $125 if the monitor is good. And I'd think I got a steal.

Kudos to the guy for doing the right thing and keeping it alive!

Someone should start collecting these things. This one. The Star Wars chair. Noice's side art nightmare, etc. Create a museum out of them. Like Ripley's Believe it or Not but with arcade games.

I am both repulsed and fascinated by this machine. Yes, it looks like a 6th grade woodshop project, but all the parts working and in the correct spots says it was made with love by someone with limited resources.

If it was local, I'd have to buy it and move the parts over to a solid cab. Its the Rain Man of arcade games.

some people shouldn't play with power tools
before it gets deleted, however I can't get the photos to post

I have a working stand up Zaxxon arcade game for sale.

The original stand up enclosure was damaged beyond repair and not salvageable.

The original "guts" were taken out and mounted in a wooden frame (see pictures below).

The game is 100% functional. The joystick, all buttons, quarter slots, internal play counter, cheat button to add free credits, the screen, the audio (with volume knob), high score, initials, etc, everything works.

This would be an EXCELLENT item for the garage or a nice project for someone handy with wood who can build a new enclosure for the game.

What you get:

- working stand up Zaxxon arcade game mounted in a wooden frame
- side panels from the original enclosure (see pictures)
- Zaxxon marquee sign from the original enclosure(see pictures)
- two copies of the service manual (laser printed)
- the original service manual found tucked inside the game (not usable but great nostalgia)
- box of parts from the original enclosure (mounting hardware, original trigger, etc)

Asking price is $200 but NO REASONABLE OFFER WILL BE REFUSED !!!!!!!

You must come pick it up. Location is near 35th and Halsted in Bridgeport.

Send an email to set up an appointment to check it out, or if you have any questions.

* Location: Bridgeport
* it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Looks like a regular red ball top joystick too. I hate Zaxxon. I had to take one when I bought my Space Duel as part of the deal (seller hated it even more). Couldnt wait to sell it.

Poor Zaxxon. Yeah, he may have "saved" it, but he's charging too much for the game, a monitor, a non-original balltop stick, buttons and a real ugly enclosure. Sell it in parts and put it out of its misery. He and the "rygar in a star trek cab" guy should get together.

Well, maybe he tried to build his own "enclosure" and lost interest or it ended up being way over his head. My guess is just some unemployed or retired guy that ended up with a free (trashed) Zaxxon somehow and tried his best to make a little money with little to zero knowledge of arcade games. Most guys like this are pretty reasonable if someone contacts them and explains it's true value.

I think its great that he was able to save it and keep it working. Compared to the Tempest I once saw in a guys house, this Zaxxon is a work of art.

I dont have "an enclosure" for this.

I have too much crap at home to deal with then to grab this one.

Please grab it for me, I will pay shipping... Is it a far drive for ya? These parts should be saved. I'm no huge fan of Zaxxon, but I would eventually find a cab and restore this thing just on principal...
