I found a Z80 pod listed on Ebay a few minutes ago....$3000 bucks. This is discouraging. It seems like every time one pops up I either get outbid or its something like this. I am getting worn out hunting one of these. I recently built the Z80 kit from JM Precision and did not have any luck with it. I have spent hours troubleshooting that thing and cannot find a reason why it wont work. I guess Ill keep working on it. Sorry guys...just had to vent there for a minute.

Put it on your watch list and Make an offer, nothing to lose. I've gotten alot of things for WAY below the initial asking price on Ebay. Good luck

I built one as well and I too can't get it to work. I also bought the 6502 and it will pass intermittently. Neither work for diagnostics on games. I also own the Marin Z80 pod and plan to us it on a Ms Pacman this weekend. Need to start a thread for these as I know we are not the only people with this equipment, I am sure we are not alone.

Probably not a bad idea starting a thread on these. I have put quite of bit of money into that JM Precision pod kit tracking down all the parts etc. I am beginning to suspect that the A11 board is bad on mine. I will do a post on it soon. Maybe you guys might see something I am missing.

I read that JMP has poor customer service. Whereas Marion, by comparison, seems much more likely to help with issues.
From my point of view, I don't care so much for the form-factor of the pod solution, I only care that it works. YMMV

That said, did JMP have any advice?

No, but I will say that JPM states that they do not provide support, so I knew that up front. I am glad that there are people that provide reproductions and I definitely don't want to run the guy down. I am going to dig in a little deeper on it. I keep hoping I will find a spot I screwed up. The boards JMP provided are really nice quality but I did find a short on one of the pre-assembled protection boards.

well if he sells a lot of boards and we are all having the same problems, we should be able to get some support. He made a little video about his memory module which works well after a lot of people had the same questions. maybe we gather a group of people with the same problems. If your A11 board is bad so must mine be as well.

I finally got my Marin Z80 pod working, it was my own mistake on a couple of capacitors. But the community offered up more help than Marin. He offered up suggestions, but with problems on these Kits, We are our best resource as a community. It was other people's help that let me solve my problem through simple diagnostics. So I think a Thread for these particular PODs problems would be incremental in solving these problems.

I don't like the other 4066T protection boards available out there, so I made my own. If JMP still uses the large square pin headers, then those can be problematic too if using with a socket. This is important to note as these modules have a series pass-thru function. YMMV

Marian's, with the small diodes etc, were problematic too, IMHO. YMMV

My JM products Z80 kit has original Fluke Protection boards as I was trying to eliminate any possible variations. He does use square pins and they also fit the sockets pretty well, they seem to snap into place with good continuity. Seems he probably was planning for them to be soldered into place like the original PODs were. Maybe all the sockets are the problem?

Well, I will gather up some pictures and start a reproduction pod post. I may do that tonight.

I have a z80 and 8080 pod....i do have marion's 6502 and im about 60% done going on a year now...those small boards are a pain in the butt...i even bought a hi tech microscope to solder on those things...i never designed or built anything like that but why so have those small.boards so small?!?!? I did one small board then walked away from it. I will go back to it one day and finish them off....i still have more components to buy.
