Hey guys -
So I got the Playchoice 10 home today. It needs some work, though is playable somewhat.
The first thing I want to tackle ASAP, is the upper monitor. I don't know what this phenomenon is called, so I couldn't search for it. But, after the monitor warms up, it does this:
Despite the picture, it is NOT rolling - the black scanlines (between the data top and bottom of the image) are fixed. You can see the characters change as controls are used.
When it's NOT doing that - i.e. right after turning the game on - it's compressed vertically, and the V-SIZE knob won't turn any more to make it taller.
I have not tried the H-Hold pot yet (didn't have my manual handy when I was inspecting the monitor, didn't know where it was. I'll try that later tonight..)
Other than my game having an ultra-low serial number, I know nothing of any work done on the game before I picked it up today.
Anything to check for this? Recapping?
