Just picked up a Z-Back. It has a Street Fighter II CP, so planning to convert it back just as Dahlsim intended. Haven't owned one of these before, and had a few questions:

Z-Back Questions:

1) the monitor is currently vertical. This can be rotated without additional mounting hardware correct?
2) the volume up/down inside the coin door doesn't work. Anything I should know about this setup before troubleshooting or just the usual stuff? (broken wires, voltages, etc)
3) there is a stapled panel below the mini access panel on the backdoor door that some KLOV'ers have removed for better access. Is that 2nd panel glued also or just stapled?
4) How do I gain 50 lbs of muscle so I can carry this thing?

1) as long as you have the two original piece of plywood the monitor mounts to, you should be fine.
2) You are going to have to trace this back to your harness
3) the panel is stapled and glued down, get a heat-gun and small pry bar to remove the panel or remove the batons and replace them with new ones.
4) steroids

Awesome, thanks. Looks great

My cabinet has definitely been loved, and it was indeed a Street Fighter, I can see the old faded CPO showing through. 360,260 plays! That's mind blowing. It looks like a few bucks in quarters have collected in the bottom, and maybe a 1993 scratch lotto ticket. Hopefully I can get them.

Missing the top monitor bracket, missing one of the speakers, cabinet could use some work, but solid overall. looks like some kind taps have been added going to the CP harness. Trying to figure out why that would be. if anyone has a theory, let me know.

Currently fixing up a sf2ce zback cab also, hopefully will fire it up today. I'll send ya a message to avoid derailing your thread with my story and hurdles.

If it would help, I'd be willing to take/make any pics / sketches / cad renderings you might need on the it. My cab is complete except missing the screen plastic bezel insert and one particle board backpanel.

Same here. I was considering vinyl for more original, but it's hard to beat laminate. A little easier if you have the right tools, definitely faster to complete, and creates such a nice finished product. I have not done a front panel yet though, so a little concerned about the method for cutting to size

I've done a couple of Zbacks. Nice cab aesthetically but I hate the control panel angle and the lack of usable space inside.

Here's some inspo:
