Your rarest games

My rarest working game would be Mystic Marthon. My rarest project would probably be the Joust cocktail. My rarest cabinet would have been the Joust I put into a Robotron cabinet that originally had been released as a Stargate.

And the rarest board would probably be one that I have no idea what the h*ll it is. There is a note magic markered on the side calling it "Striper" but I haven't found a game called Striper anywhere. It has a mostly JAMMA adapter on it. I've been tracing circuits to verify power requirements and outputs, but I haven't powered it up yet.

At a glance I'd say Future Spy and especially Lock-On, I can't remember the last time I saw a LO come up for a reasonable price.

I had that lock on for sale here for a month fully restored, and no one took it ,even at $75 FULLY WORKING!!!. I listed it on ebay 4 times and it never sold. Finally I got someone to trade me something else for it. I ended up selling the future spy to a member here after months of not being able to get rid of it. Note to self....don't buy a rare game if it sucks,or you can't get parts for it. Definately not worth it.

Damn if I were closer for that price I would have snagged the Lock On in a heartbeat, I haven't played it in decades but if I recall it was a really cool game!

Crap where are these deals when I'm around? :( I need to get my car set up to handle a trailer damn it, I spend too much time kicking myself when things like that pass me by!

Rare Games

Here are my (2) rare ones.. The Quasar is Italian made, not many in the states as most were sold in Europe.. My Kung Fu Master cocktail is the first I've ever seen, first dedicated at least..

My rarest would be my 1954 Williams Colors woodrail pinball. Less than 200 made...

For the vids, I'd say my solid, WORKING Baby Pac with factory mylar playfield! Lol!

Bill

I have a few boards that are listed as scarce or uncommon on VAPS but I wouldn't say they're rare or anything. They just don't pop up much.

Nothing fancy... Route 16 cocktail, a working Pole Position, Breakout... that's about it for home. At the arcade I'm working on a Star Castle though... does that count?

Food Fight Cocktail.

I bought it in a town that only has a zipcode in Kansas. It was very hard to find. The guy I bought it from said his dad bought it when he was an air traffic controller at KCI airport.

Kozmic Krooz'r / Wacko (bought both cabinets from the same guy on Mother's Day weekend)

Discs of Tron Environmental (chopped, but not by me...)

Tempest cocktail

Sinistar (Rare for this part of the country)

Sinstar

Sinstar is rare in your neck of the woods? Funny how some are somewhat common up here, but if you go across the country or down south they become rarer.. Taito games seem like that up here.. But on the west coast they are everywhere..

Kfm

Thanks.. It was really bad when I picked it up.. Found it under a pile of junk in a antique store in MA. Stripped the whole thing down, repainted, new or nos everything..

Found some repro overlays that a fellow klov guy made up a few years back, he had a couple left.. Not the best, but look real nice. Game looks as good as it did when it came from the factory.. spent a bit too much time and $$, but hell.. it was worth it..

For me, working, would prob be a Berzerk and a Millipede cocktail. On the list to restore, a Pac Novelty/ Gameplan Shark Attack. Boards are verified working, cassette player is being refurbed, I just need to start refinishing the cab and put it all back together.

I used to have a Mylstar Three Stooges video game, you could play with 3 people at once with 3 separate joysticks. I sold it to a Three Stooges collector (also a VAPS member) in Chicago for $850.00. Less than 200 were made before Mylstar (Gottlieb) quit making vids. Had pretty cool speech- OH Wise Guy Huh, Hey Moe!!! LOL

I recently saw a Three Stooges game for sale on Chicago Craiglist. I wonder if its the same one?

I used to look for rare stuff but not so much any more. It's usually rare for a reason ...

No real "rare" games here for me either, after reading the thread I can't say I have much love for most of them, I can't see owning one just because it's "rare" has to be a special game for me or it's just an expensive dust collector "shrug".......

Not sure if this counts, but I guess my Pokemon Snap Station. From what I understand only 2500 were made and they were supposed to be shipped back to Nintendo to be destroyed when the Blockbuster promotion ran out. I picked one up a while back complete with activation cards, posters and full ink/sticker sets from an ex-Blockbuster manager, pretty cool purchase since I collect more modern Nintendo collectibles too. I know of only three other working machines in existence and three shells, all from a similar scenario and most owned by managers or their families.
