Your old arcade hangout and what it is now.

Every game I buy is an attempt to recreate the magic of that place.

I know this feeling very, very well. I currently call my humble home arcade; "1980-Something".... but I'm considering using the name "Reborn Odyssey" once I get closer to actually duplicating the games that were there. They only had, I think, a total of 14-15 games in there(overall, some were sent out on location).... and some of the other games on my want list were never there, but at the pizza shop across the parking lot. I'm honestly considering putting those games all together and calling it "Loppo's Corner". They only ever had 1 game at a time, but they switched often enough to keep it interesting. I played SO many classics there, until the owner died and his wife sold it. Place went downhill after that(the new owner felt he knew better than the established customer base.... he learned the hard way that you shouldn't fuck with what worked).

This gives me an idea, though.... While I know the original sign for Odyssey is long gone, I have a picture of it.... I could have it re-made in a size small enough to hang over the door(once we have a house I can dedicate that level of space to), and have the word "Reborn" added above "Odyssey". I think that would be an awesome tribute to the place I loved so much.

Earth Station 1 in Antioch, CA was my hang out as a kid. Great arcade, wish I had some pictures of it. I had a paper route, and after collecting I would ride my Mongoose straight to the arcade, the money wouldn't even make it to my house! hahaha It was in a little corner strip mall with three units, for awhile one of the other units was a 7-11, so it was the perfect spot to get a Slurpee and then hit some games. The whole thing has since been torn down and it is now a rather fancy Taco Bell, which sucks. I have seen pictures of the old tokens online, but never a picture of the actual arcade. Every game I buy is an attempt to recreate the magic of that place. Mt. View Foods near my house also had a couple games, including Galaxian. I would save my lunch money every day and play games on the way home from school. The employees got to know me and I got so good at Galaxian they would come watch me play. There were other places around town that had games, like Roller Haven roller rink is where I first saw Space Invaders, and they also had a sweet Battle Zone. Delta Bowl had a Phoenix I remember, as well as a lot of other games.

Awesome tokens!

i grew up in Grand Prix Race O Rama in Davie/Ft Lauderdale during the 80s. During the "CASTLE" years before it became Boomers. It was an amazing time.

Im wondering if anyone has pics of the inside. Ive googled and searched here and could not find any.
