After posting in the 'ever lose motivation on a restore' thread it got me thinking. I posted about my Popeye that has a metal plate instead of a coin door but I have all the parts to put back to original and needs t-molding plus a few other small cosmetic things. I have had it for over three years now though and it has never once given me any trouble.

So what unrestored (at least electronically) games have you acquired that you have had for at least a year and have been the most reliable? Never given you one problem, never a reset or anything. I have quite a few that just needed something minor to get them going and have never given me another headache but Popeye has never needed anything so that is why the restore just hasn't started yet.

My Virtual On Cybertrooper duel cabs. They aren't in the best condition cosmetically, but they play well and have no issues otherwise.

Space Zap hasn't given me any trouble. Neither has my Neo-Geo, but I put that one together so I guess it doesnt count. DK had a improperly wired speaker when I bought it, fixed that, both it and DK Jr. have yet to give me any trouble either. Almost everything else has been a money pit. DK was also previously restored so I guess it doesnt count either. Pretty sure DK Jr. & Space Zap are all original.

captian fantastic pin.(em) traded a dart board for it years ago, worked then, still works now never any headaches with that one..

of course now that i said that...

Galaxian. Probably because I am the only one the EVER plays it. No on else appreciates it.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I've really done nothing to it and it's been running fine for 3 years. I did a cap kit on the monitor just because I was in a cap kitting mood, but I've never had so much as a flicker from it.

I've had to do absolutely nothing to my Missile Command cocktail since I got it about 2 years ago. As far as I can tell, its untouched - the monitor has the original capacitors even. Made in 1980 and still working great.

Primal Rage. Bought it, moved it into the garage, then straight to the gameroom. 2 years later, it fires up every time and has by far the best looking monitor in my arcade. If all my games were this reliable, I'd be a much happier man.

One of my all time favorites:

Of the games I presently own, I have had problems with all of them. They are usually few and far between but of the 6 working games I presently have, all of them have had troubles at one time or another.

was downstairs tonight and the gi in the backbox of my CAP FANTASTIC flickered and went out. the fuse holder literally fell apart and the main connector pin (in the big row of pins-connector near the fuse area) for the backlights is fried, ill have to bypass it. Im lucky it didnt catch fire. I had noticed the other day the gi seemed to dim and brighten up but chocked it up to me bieng nuts. So much for that.

No, im not making this up.

I haven't been collecting for quite a year yet, but my first purchase is still working with no problems. It's a bit newer than most--Ninja Assault--but has been running continuously for almost eleven months now.
