Your favorite 'thing' in your collection?

Haha! What frets? I ripped them out! 🤪

The frets were in really bad shape. One of them was worn down into the wood. A2 or A3 IIRC. Whoever owned it before me REALLY liked bending that C.

Yeah. So I pulled them out to refret it then decided I didn't have the skills. THEN learned I couldn't afford to pay someone to do it right. So…fretless bass since…fall 1991? It's terrible.

No slide in there!
Are you talking about by the neck pickup? That's a contoured finger rest. Walnut I think. Hook your fingers under it for extra stability and an easy home reference when your right hand is way up there away from the bridge.
Wow, yeah I didn't know what to make of it lol! My bad....I was like is there nothing there or are they badly corroded , old eyes here..... fretless is tough! Yeah a refret can be pricey. Yes that was what I was talking about...some guys put a magnet under there so a slide will stick to the pickguard for quick play.

Nope. That's original to the bass. It was in fairly good condition when I bought it for $50. But that fugly sunburst had to go!

I haven't done anything with it since 2003? 2005? Except lug it around with me when I moved.

I let it out of my possession twice and each time it was wrecked by someone. I left college for a semester and my frat brother kicked in the original pick guards took off the bridge cover and I guess tossed it? And he stole a brand new set of bright Warwick strings and a custom strap. Of course "he never touched it". But there's a year book photo with him wearing my bass. 😠

Second time I took it to a repair guy to have him refret it, make new pick guards, and set it up for me. He called me a week later saying the pickups were dead did I want to proceed? WTH? He played it during the initial meeting when I dropped it off!

This bass is cursed.

Thanks for trying to bring it back!
I'll join the fight.

Lookie what I found collecting dust at the comic shop!!!!! I had to rescue her!

What are the odds? After just digging out my DL drawing a few days ago? It was meant to be!!!

Been looking for one of these for years. What did that set you back?

Cool thread!

I have the plastic control panel instruction overlay (seen in the KLOV pic below) from Space Wars by Cinametronics. The really big cab.

I remember playing that as one of my very first arcade games I ever played. I wish I could find a complete working one, but this will have to do.

It brings me back every time I look at it.

So many things to choose from. And so many things that are hidden away in boxes. The answer changes every time something like this comes up.

Today, thinking of all of those boxes? I think it's my 1-off pencil drawing of Dirk and Daphne that Don Bluth did for me. I'll try to post a picture if I can dig it out soon.
Holy crap! That shit should be framed and on the wall already...

We demand pics soon!

Preferablely framed and on the wall.

#1 right now is my Stark Varg

#2 is my Gottlieb North Star

#3 is my Multi-Williams in the Joust cab

#4 wife's vagina

#5 Sinistar and the other games
Hmm, I'd have to rank your wife's vagina as #1. Just saying.

Multi-Williams in the Joust cab is a close second though...

:p

My Cobra Command (Laserdisc) Game
Built from the ground up in a reproduction cabinet and a custom made wire harness.
Still running a laserdisc with probably the only Lasercon on the planet with the CC conversion ROM and a Pioneer LD-V4400 player.
Many thanks to Shaun Wood for his help and patience in getting it running.

Since guitars have been brought back up. This is my Tokia Explorer with Washburn locking tremolo. I got it in 1988 (green sunburst) and painted it with the Union Jack sometime between 1991 and 1994. You can't tell, because the background is white, it its candy apple red and candy royal blue. I'm a Def Leppard fan in case you can't figure it out.
I also have a lawsuit era Aria SG doubleneck 12 over 6, that i got for my HS graduation present. Hard to decide which is my favorite. The Explorer gets a whole lot more play though.
