Awesome collection...The chamelon effect of the purple neon is very special, I love that guitar....Love Ibanez Guitar too....just easy to play and customize...here's an old RG 570 of mine(I think it was a 93 model).....This picture of is the only one I have of it..me back in 1994-95The oldest guitar I have is a 1997 rg570. I like my MIJ RGs. Guess that makes me a Ibanez fanboy. I was kinda thinking about the roadflare red, but I saw that the purple had a bit of color shifting in different lighting, so I was like, yeah, that's mine.

Yes indeed, it was a great sounding preamp, old pic though...like almost 20 years ago or so..... Was modded by John Suhr too with the transformer mod and more. Been through many rig iterations since then...my current rack is pages back. Good eye!Is that a CAE 3 preamp in that rack?

Nice!!! Nothing sounds like a Les and the Sykes fan in me had to have one in my collection. Very cool guitars man, awesome stuff!! A nice Gibson V is a drool worthy guitar(as well as the Explorer...good Lord on that one!). Thanks for posting your axes!Beautiful guitars. I'm loyal to Gibson guitars. They've lasted my lifetime and of course you get used to their feel snd sounds. I have an 84 Challenger 3 that I reworked with 2 humbuckers (not an expensive guitar, bolt on, but has a nice ebony fretboard and USA made) and an 89 black LP studio lite (thin cut). I used to have a "nuclear yellow" 87 studio lite, that thing must have been exceptionally rare. I liked it a lot but sold it basically because of the color, which I didn't feel cool enough to be seen with.
I've been drooling over Gibson V's for several years now and still haven't pulled the trigger. I just play so little now.

Thanks! That Challenger came setup like a Strat with a 5-way and 3 singles, so it sounded more like a Strat than an LP. I effectively stopped playing it when I got the LP in 89 because the LP sounded so much better, until just a few years ago when I kinda started playing again. I decided I could make a new pickguard, wiring, and pickups and not do anything irreversible. (Not a valuable guitar but I just can't bring myself to modify something that's been original since 1984). So I strung it up with super heavy strings and tuned it down, so I can play drop tuned songs and not have to get used to a 7 string. Brought new life into that guitar!Nice!!! I hear ya, it has to feel right, and different types of guitars really have some major difference in the feel of the neck, the angle to the body, the space for your hands around the bridge and controls, etc. I pick up a Strat and it's like everything is just in the wrong place, like it was meant for someone with a totally different body than me.Sick guitars! I also drool over Gibson V's, Les Paul's, anything with six strings really… but have never played a Gibson that feels good in my hands. My friend inherited a 1990 Standard Sunburst Gibson Les Paul and I can honestly say it's the only Gibson I've played that I love. I WANT to love them so bad, but I can't help it if it doesn't feel right. Sad face lol
Also, I've been wondering for a while what purpleibby meant and this thread finally put that to rest.Nice!!! Nothing sounds like a Les and the Sykes fan in me had to have one in my collection. This seems to have officially become a guitar thread and I'm ok with that.
At the moment, my favorite thing in my arcade is my 720 or Surron. But that can change on any given day.

Neat stuff, is that a slide I see on there in that last pic? Sorry about your pickup....it's open/no dc resistance? Bummer man. One cool and affordable trick to bringing that baby back is gorgomyte....you can make those frets shine again without having to steel wool them to polish it up which can create a mess/problemsAnd now to jump back to music.
I need to learn to play this thing again after about 25 years of silence.
Gotta get it fixed first. It was tragically destroyed by the guy who was supposed to shop it out for me. He blew out one of the pickups! How? I'll never know. Much sadness.
I also need to finish the paint job I started in '91.

Gorgomyte is magic...I think it's the same chemical that is used on polishing metal horns n stuff ...turns the polish cloth black and you get frets that look shiny and good...makes the guitar sound and play better ..Fun too, it's dramatic how good it works and it instantly breathes new life into guitars with frets that need some love..a pack will last you for years:
