Your favorite game hauler.

My Toyota Sienna hauls my kids and all my games and I love it. I got greedy one time and thought I could squeeze two side-by-side. It was too tight at the wheel wells but it narrows a bit higher so I built a platform to clear this spot. Things were still going to be tight but the plastic could be squeezed out much easier higher up.

After a 3 hour drive to pickup my Centipede and Galaxian, it became apparent that I had not considered ceiling clearance. I was glad I brought my drill with me. Ripped it apart and had to choose who was coming home.

I drove right back for the other one the next night lol.

I rent a uhaul motorcycle trailer and pull it with my old 850 turbo volvo. Its $15 or $25 with insurance, can hold 4-6 games depending (Most Ive hauled in it is 2 so far) and the place I go is open late 7 days a week so its easy. I still want my own trailer but u-haul is pretty damned awesome.

I like the mini van rental idea. I kept going to uhaul and they spank you pretty hard for the mileage. I prefer the unlimited situations. On the converse I could look at an old ranger. I just prefer the closed back for long hauls but in the end I think either would work.

I've done this same thing and get the one with the drop down ramp which is awesome. The downside is that my u-haul doesn't always have this when I need it.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I was about to rent a Uhaul van for over $100 but I could try and rent a minivan locally for 1 day and save a bunch I bet.

Thanks,
Andy

Yeah it's worked out great for me. It's far more comfortable than a UHaul and usually has a nice radio. I keep a car phone mount and audio cable in my car so I use that to clip my phone to the dash vent on the rental, connect it to the aux in and run Android Auto so I chill with my music and mapping during a long drive. There's no hidden mileage charges and it doesn't scream "Hey there's stuff inside to steal!" so when I have to drive far I can get the game and stop to get a burger if I want since it's all enclosed and doesn't look like there is anything inside. Being enclosed is also very important here in LA because leaving a game out in the hot sun on a long drive can potentially warp parts of it, I've seen that happen on pinball machines, which is why I don't use pickup trucks. I rent from the same Avis near me so the guy knows me now, and I just leave my car right in the Avis parking lot now, do my business, then drop off the van some hours later and drive back home.

I just bought this avalanche and picked up a tempest in it 2 days later.

I have to say I'm pretty happy with this truck so far.

I agree, the Avalanche is such versatile vehicle. I sure miss mine. I would have bought another one if they still made them.

i had an extended 95 Astro, but when it kakked i bought a 1995 G30.

hauls two 26" wide games or two pins quite easily. it would haul a third pin if it did not have a bench seat bolted in it that the previous owner added, but it's been handy to have so i can take the whole family on a game run with me (i had to pull both bench seats out of my Astro to fit a game in.)

having something covered is almost mandatory in the PNW and many of the truck bed/canopy combos won't allow for more than one game at a time, especially since beds are usually only 48" wide.

Miss having a truck but at the moment the family Mercury Mariner works. Ha definitely works when my wife says that game won't fit I always want to bet?!
