Auctions (Other) Your chance to be Varkonned.

Wait....is that a real conditon for this auction? Or is it just a reference to Salmon fishing equipment in the PNW?

I didn't bother to read the whole thing.
No. It says cash or wire transfer in one section. Then another section describes an extra fee for credit card purchases. so it's unclear.

It also has a section that says the auction bids are binding … then later says the seller has final right of approval. So, only binding one way I guess?

Sloppy agreement terms as written.

Salmon ref only

Great way of selling projects and filler games.
I'm sure many people would bid $300 on a decent project or two thinking I'm for sure buying this grail.
Might as well buy those since I'm making a trip anyway. Then after the auction your winning bid on your piece de le resistance is not for sale at your bid. The seller thins his horde and keeps his treasures.

then later says the seller has final right of approval.
Sound like a way of having a reserve, without having a reserve. If you're the "Highest Bidder" when the auction closes, the Seller may decide that isn't enough money and keep it. I call BS too!

If someone was able to pick up a game and get it closer (to Michigan) I may take the risk and put a bid in...

Here's how I see the full cost: High Bid + 10% Buyers Premium + 7% TN Sales Tax + 3% Credit Card fee = (Price + $20%) *Using Credit Card should provide much more protection from potential fraud!

The other thread on this confirmed that credit card is not an option. Cash or wire transfer only. So … no protection!

Sadly, in the next decade or two, these huge, rare arcade collection auctions will be the norm. The problem is, 10 to 20 years from now, who's gonna give a fuck about any of this stuff? It might actually start selling for pennies on the dollar, just like my grandfather's restored tube radio collection, or my great grandfather's old west and handgun collection.
Shit I'll buy the handgun collection for pennies on the dollar🤣
