Auctions (Other) Your chance to be Varkonned.

I'll probably register as well and throw some bids at some of my bucket list games. I doubt I'll be in the final running, but at least I'll be able to say I bid on some cool stuff!

If someone were industrious and had a couple of weeks off, they'd offer to park a rental truck at the auction, and deliver games to KLOV members for $250 each. Just to allow more people here to bid, and keep more games in the community.

Figure 25 games in a 26' truck, 2 weeks to deliver them all. After expenses you could probably come out slightly ahead, or at least break even. But it would make for a fun paid cross-country road trip, meeting a bunch of KLOVers along the way, and saving a bunch of games.

A lot of amazing titles here. I registered. We will see what happens. Whose collection is this? Someone has to know in our group … too many rare titles here not to be known……
Someone who picked up about 100 games from the MOP auction.... I see a few titles I was outbid on. Will I be able to get them for less this time? Find out next week. More importantly, will s/he get the $23.5K back for the Varkon?

Term/Condition 18 is a little offputting:
ITEMS ARE SOLD SUBJECT TO SELLER'S CONFIRMATION/APPROVAL
OUR AUCTIONS ARE NOT ABSOLUTE!

Does this mean if the seller doesn't like the hammer price they can back out?

Sounds like if they don't like ANYTHING, they can back out.

Shenanigans for sure to occur.

It's one thing to list something with a reserve price and quite another level of jackassery for whatever is going on with this treasure trove.
That said, what a hoard...

Sadly, in the next decade or two, these huge, rare arcade collection auctions will be the norm. The problem is, 10 to 20 years from now, who's gonna give a fuck about any of this stuff? It might actually start selling for pennies on the dollar, just like my grandfather's restored tube radio collection, or my great grandfather's old west and handgun collection.
Is this Mark from Markline vending? All our big wooden boxes will be worthless? Go look at some of the prices for good examples of rare games from the 1930's and 1940's.
