Just wondering the deals that people have gotten.

I guess my best deal was my last 50$ haul with:
working hatris cocktail, cleaned up nice.
pretty much new mortal kombat 2 upgrade kit(Board, marquee)
Sega cartridge based system with decathlete
Fighters history board
Heavy Unit board
2 jamma harnesses
1 key/lock
3 monitor chassis for parts

Haven't had a worst deal.....yet..

I have had a few good and bad(bad in restrospect)

my tron cocktail for about $900 and about $375 shipping but I really wanted it and ti was my first machine. sold it for $750 last year

Got my tron upright for about $450 from ctozzi on here. Paid about $100 shipping to get it here. Thanks avidgeek.

W H A T ?

No mention of your $50 Robotron that sold after only having it a week? :D

or was that Jow?

My best deal was my $100 working red cabinet Donkey Kong.
My worst deal was when I was a newbie I bought a beat up Make Trax Cocktail for $250.

I thought cocktails were Rare LOL..
I learned my lesson.

My best deal so far was either the 15 machines for $400 or the free to a good home Ms Pacman.

My worst deal was a free Joust cabinet that was loaded with termites....

I've had more than my share of good deals. Hard to pick the best. As for bad that would be my tempest mainly because of circumstances. Bought it for $500 because I really wanted it. Then it died after having it a day. Then within a week of buying it I was offered two more tempests at the same price as the one I bought but both were in nicer physical condition and worked. I really can't complain though. As I mentioned I've had so many great deals that getting one or two that are not so great really doesn't hurt that bad.

I guess I could say the worst deal in retrospect was when I passed on 20 games for $800. Didn't bother me at the time but I regret passing on it now.

My best deals were the Street Fighter 2 and Space Invaders Deluxe (both for free from my buddy).

Won't have a worst deal. Those are made for folks who do cheap bulk buys in the hopes of finding treasures or folks who drink too much.

Ouch, were they all working?

that must have been jow. I would like to have a robotron.

He didn't dump his did he?

Best? Hard to say... Probably some of the boards I took in trade for repairing others. :D

Worst? Bought a box of 8 liner boards. Paid way too much. That's when I learned about shill bidders at Superauctions. I also learned about auction fever in a bad way. Now I set practical limits on what I want to spend and stick to them.

Best deal was probably (by chance) buying a 1958 Bally Skill Roll (EM arcade game) for $50 at an estate sale, then seeing them sell for $1500 on ebay! [trouble is, we like it.. so its an "investment" at the moment :) ]

worst deal... If you ask my back, it was agreeing to haul away 10 slate pool tables. If you ask my wallet.. it was probably the first game I got (no surprise there... ) a firepower pinball bought from afar for $600 that required another $100 or so in parts and countless hours of clueless noob labor to get going. That game is here for life!

Worst deal would have to be the time that I traded a few working games (Burgertime, Joust, Altered Beast, Street Fighter II) and a few non-working ones (Marble Madness, Robotron, Battlezone) and maybe a few others for a whopping pile of about 35, pretty much, empty piece of crap cabinets (two or three actually were fully working games, Viper for one).
The kicker is that the guy wanted $20 a piece if I were to take all 35 but I didn't have the cash, so a trade was my best option...he just talked me into trading way too much becuase he had to have those titles for his game room.
Then, the last day that I (yes, I...he didn't deliver anything) finished devilering and gathering everything he left for a weekend in Vegas. The day he got back everything that I traded him went up on the groups for sale (except Burgertime).
He pretty much ruined me for believing people when they say 'I need that game for my game room, I will keep it forever'. You live and learn...

Best deal...I've had a few $100 deals where I bought out complete collections (divorce and 'I hate my family' sales). They would have to be the best, although nothing really great was gotten.

Best deals:

$50 Tempest (needed a power cord and brightness was turned all the way down)
$50 Cruis'n USA (needed monitor repair)
"Free" Tron and Crystal Castles (both aquired in exchange for doing repair work)

Worst Deals:
$20 for an old Sencore rejuvenator at an estate auction. It's only $20, but the point is I threw my money away on something useless for the hobby. I bought a B&K 470 on eBay the next week. :p

$175 for my Centipede was probably my "worst" deal. The cabinet was non-working and rough, but complete. What made it bad was the nice rat's nest in the marquee. :(

I think my best deal was my $20 Robotron a friend of mine found for me. Although it needed boardwork to be 100% it was the best deal I got. It cleaned up really nice and I found the machine was actually in excellent shape.

Worst deal I think may have been my Tron. I paid $450 11 years ago for it but this thing is all beat to hell. Luckily I have never had any problems with it. I think a more fair price would've been $200 or less...

Lots of best deals, the most recent was the $10 Joust. As for worst deals- the Star Wars I bought off eBay and paid to ship halfway across the country was rough and ended up costing a fortune in shipping, the extra parts were junk too.

About a month later I got another one from a local collector with a mint burn-in free Amplifone in very nice non-working shape in a trade that benefitted us both.

...

Too many of both to list here :)

But some that come to mind:

I sold my TIMBER for $2200 (but it was super super mint) like 4 years ago.
I bought a Quantum (the one pictured on KLOV) for $100 and sold it for $4k.
