I love all my games and want the most out of them, so I have all of them with the attract mode on. The experience of being overwhelmed with arcade sounds from all games at all angles was cool at first, but now I want to deep cut my ears out and have to make the sucky decision to decide which attract modes have to go. Let me explain my attract mode scenario.

My Altered Beast has this ear drum jarring space ray sound when the altered-dragon starts kicking like a maniac. At the same time, the loudest bell telephone starts ringing next to it from final fight followed by a Jamaican hoodlum named Damnd belly laughing. On top of this, I'm notified that Mr Perfect is on the top rope and crashes on the mat. Stun Runner is going ballistic over warp speed pads, and Smash TV keeps yelling No Way. The undertone of all this is Spaghetti Western music thanks to Sunset Riders, followed by deep voices announcing Johnny Cage, Kano, and Raiden. Just as I hear the crow caw-ing again in Stun-Runner, the dude begins howling from Altered Beast as he's trans-species-ing, while Hawk and Animal make it well known that "they snack on danger, dine on death".

All at once, it's ear numbing torture lol.

I'm curious to know how crazy obnoxious others games rooms are with all games and attract modes on. Which ones did you have to turn off to save your sanity?

If the sounds are too repetitious with no break, attract mode off.
Daytona? Off. Zookeeper? Off. Point Blank? Off. Most Neo carts? Off. (save 1 or 2)

Some games just play a short jingle or minimal sounds, they stay on. (bombjack, super hang-on, dig dug)

Your Smash TV and MK are Midway, these attract modes diminish over time, which is a cool feature. They're noisy when first turned on or have just been played, but they are more silent as time goes on with only occasional sounds. I leave those on. Their pins are the same, just occasional sounds. Most of those kit games you mentioned would be left off if they were here. I have a jukebox so I want that to cut through most of the time.

Love Ghosts n Goblins . Love the game sounds and music . The attract sounds will drive you to take a sledge hammer to it .

There is one, and ONLY ONE...

Pole Position!

I dare you!

:D

I actually love the PP attract mode with the race signal beeping, but that was in the arcade. In my home on a much smaller scale that may drive me nuts.

it's not a night in the arcade unless Pinbot suddenly and without warning plays it's theme song way too loudly in attract mode JUST when the arcade has quieted down, causing me to jump half-across the room in fright

good times :)

I have all the attract sounds turned off. If you were in an adjacent room, you wouldn't even know there was an arcade! Long ago, I thought that attract sounds would be cool. That lasted a few hours.

Here, I fixed that for you...

:D

Don't get me wrong, I love the Pole Position attract mode, but just not 100 times in a row.

But then again, it does what it's designed to do. Attract. You could find a Pole Position any where in an arcade, even if you were blind...

:D

Don't have my games on often enough to be truly annoyed, and most have diminished attracts or no attracts, but the screaming elephants in Street Fighter II are something special. I leave them all on though for that nostalgia, and I'll eventually convert Ms Pac and Tron to give them an attract. I love the chaos. :D

Try turning the volume down a bit.

I keep my games attract modes on. It's rare that all 3 will hit at the same time, but that's okay. Occasionally, it will piss off the Millennial in the basement, but who cares, right? :D

I have a really loud pac-man thanks to HSS kit that I have it set to make noise 1/4 of the time. Need more. Shits too quiet.

I go back and forth. Unless I turned them off long ago and can't remember: Time Pilot, Mario Bros. and Multi Williams do not have attract sounds. The 60-1 music sucks, so it's turned off. Crystal Castles has no attract sound on free play... sigh...

Marble Madness is on - Music is awesome.

Assault is on - the nuke blasts can be annoying, but haven't bothered to turn it off yet.

NBA Jam is on - the announcer is awesome.

Aerofighters is on - repetition is annoying.
