You know you have been in the hobby too long when:

you remember what it was like before KLOV

you remember when all that was repro'd was mostly Pac, Ms Pac, and DK art

You remember when...

Most operators were happy to have you buy their "old junk"

MAME was about 10 games

The only games people thought were worth anything were Pacs, Galaga and Kongs everything else was "just get it out of my basement"

You realize Bill Clinton was only 1 year into his second term when you started collecting.

You've had most of your games 5 years longer than you've known your wife.

You used to look in the local paper for games, because CL didn't exist.

Rep for YOU! FTW! Page one! LMAO! LOL!

Shoot! I have close to 50 people on ignore right now, 'cause of the same old shit spewing from their pie-holes... Meh, but what do I know...

Just stay out of chat/anything...

BTB, FTW used to mean fuck-the-world...

Bahahahahahahahahahaha, "same old shit spewing from their pie-holes" I love it! awesome!

Video:
You remember when Tony Berry replied to every "For Sale" ad in RGVAC and informed them that they should be moved to RGVAM because of USENET protocol. The users went nuts complaining about the increase in bandwidth required to sift through all the messages (internet cost more back then).

Pinball:
You paid a max of $1500 for pinballs that start at $3000 now. You could also buy them whenever you wanted because it just seemed like they were EVERYWHERE. Another take on this is WPC "B" titles were $500 - $700.

MARKLINE VENDING on rgvac.. sold condom machines

Can't believe no one has mentioned Mark Spaeth, well that wasn't that long ago. I miss his technical know-how. Is he still in self-exile?

I actually knew Mark "Markline" back then when I was still in NY and known as Apartmentcade. Mark worked out of a storage unit. He was quite a character.

I wonder what happened to him? He had a MCI The Safe with a stack of tokens I was always jonesing for.

Hey what about "do rag" guy?

How about "jessie" in upstate NY? I drove 3 hours to get to him and he wouldn't let me use his bathroom.

He shows up on VectorList once in a while. Weird - I had a picture of him on my website and he asked to be removed because I had bought some Clay Cowgill multi kits. Things he hadn't done yet. I haven't talked to him since. I always liked the guy.

Wow... Tony Berry and MARKLINE VENDING... two things I've completely forgotten about. :)

It's funny... I read some of my posts from back then and I just ooze the "young, dumb, and full of come" sentiment. :) I can't believe the fire I used to have and how I used to get upset over such crap.

Fun thread. :beerchug:
