So guy repsonds to Craigslist add for a game that I am selling. Supposedly a guy that grew up in New York and was Transferred to South Dakota... Now I know that public schools in Big Cities are not the best, but this guy cannot even fake it well. I thought I would jerk his chain awhile ultimately waiting for a response like this...

"Hello ,thanks for your prompt response it's really my pleasure to
buying from you,I'm sending you a business check which i figure its
easier and faster because I will instruct my secretary to issue out
your payment and get it sent across to you via 1st class mail delivery
via Fedex which delivers next day..I figure it right for easier
transaction?? Mover's money will be included on the check of which
i'll need you to send the excess fund on the check to my mover via
Money gram or Western union after the check clears so that they can
come for pick up as i already plan on using the excess on the payment
to offset the cost of the various shipments they have been undertaken
on my behalf.once you get the check don't hesitate to notify me.To be
precisely,i will be leaving for United Kingdom for 5 days exhibition.I
volunteer in given you $50 for your trustworthy ahead. I should be
back soon.awaiting your reply soon, Do let me know if i can trust you
to have the excess sent to my mover ,thank you.

Best Regards"

is that you emailing him???? since your username "trickman" LOLLOL
Which game/listing is yours?

Yes I have gotten plenty of emails like that. I tend to respond nicely "Sorry Local pick up only" I once surely did respond and cussing out knowing they are scam. in return They would post all my email address into the many market online and i surely got too much junk mails and i learned my lesson and just to say.. oh sorry local pick up as if they gotten your email.

Sometime I get email first intrdoucting saying do the movers and do the checks whatever scam they could do.

I tend not to respond that way they dont get my email .

Sometime they send email and saying they are very interested and resquest more information such as picture or hwatever.. i responed then they responeded saying send check .. will have specific mover to come pick up blah blah..

Im like fuckkkkkk they have my email now.. i respond.. sorry pick up only thanks.. "in my mind GO FETCH SOMEWHERE ELSE!!"

I had a similar situation, and not only did I get email, but they dug until they found home phone and signed me up for more info from all kinds of colleges, work from home schemes, etc. I STILL get calls asking if I'm still interested.

This why I use a shit email address that I could care less if it gets spammed or not for CL.

Next time this happens, send them one of the Nigerian princess emails about 100 times for a little revenge.

I just take their emails and forward them with the headers intact to the abuse@ email address for their email provider.

Just send them the link to the fbi.gov or ftc.gov website posting about the scam and ask the to "terminate the account per your terms of service agreement" and the spammer's account will disappear in 1 to 3 days.

The fun part is that you get to have their email account shut down while they are in the middle of scamming others.
