You guys better jump on this auction

Well....I suppose that since its a "high-end restoration" maybe its worth the price. I mean, as you can see, the lister has professional models to pay and they don't come cheap.

does the lister really think that this is going to sell?

the nice girl is included?

Only way I could figure that it would be worth the money. Looks like she also comes with the Baby Pac. They claim that it is the best one on the planet. The only way to make sure that you have a good running Baby Pac is to buy more than one working one and keep one as a backup.

I've seen and read this guys auctions. While his restos look great, the price is still way too high. I've not seen a book value on our games like Mr.pinballs guide for pins, but asking top book value is one thing, then asking what this guy does is another for sure!

Hmmm, I'd picture her better with a ball-gag in her mouth, dressed like a kinder-whore. I think he'd actually get a few bids that way....

You guys dont seriously expect KLOV cheapskate prices from an online retail seller do you? The games he's selling are in nice shape and the right person will pay what he's asking for them. His prices are a little steep but not that out of line for the condition of the machines in a RETAIL setting.

Who drugged the water at KLOV this week? There's been a bunch of high price justification going on, but I never imagined someone would try to make a 3K Asteroids, even for retail, seem reasonable at any kind of angle. The current Tron discussion is one thing...but...a 3K Asteroids...

...just...holy shit (ok, 2800...i rounded up).

A lot of people in here have NO experience in retail coin-op sales. Prices like those to the home market are/were pretty common.

I'd consider paying $2,895 for an Asteroids if it was still in its original unopened shipping crate, and if I was a big Asteroids fan.

Money spent on a restoration doesn't necessarily mean much. For example, you could spend over a thousand dollars restoring a Double Dragon 3 if you wanted to, but that doesn't mean it is likely to sell for more than a few hundred dollars.

No matter how good a restoration is, a mint or near mint unaltered original will always be better (in terms of desirability from the perspective of most people), and I'm guessing you could find such an Asteroids for that kind of money or less.

I worked for a guy in the late 90's that would constantly get $5-$7k for fairly common but in nice shape pins. The typical nice video left his shop in the $3500-6k range all the time. He didnt have people busting his doors down but he did have 5-10 sales a week. Christmas was a mad house around there. He would usually bring in another guy to help sell and I had help for deliveries and service.

All I can say is, Thank fucking God I don't have to experience retail coin-op sales. ;)

Yeah, its a PITA for sure. I'm no salesman so I didnt have to do shit other then tell the buyer about all the technical stuff we did/do to the games.
