You ever look into peoples open garages when passing by ??

Ever since I started collecting I have a bad habit of slowing down when I see an open garage door. I like to glance inside hoping to see a game crammed in a corner somehwere. I also do the same thing when I see old barns. There are just so many possible places that a game can be stored that I try not to miss anything. I pass this one house about a mile from mine at least 3 times a week. The garage next to it has stuff crammed all the way to the ceiling which you can obviously see through every window on all four sides and I am constantly wondering what all is in there. I have been trying to catch the door open one of these days, but it may be so full that it either can't be opened,or everything may fall out if you try to open it lol

I've been doing that for years but looking for cars. Peeking under car-covers to see what's there.

I actually park my car down the street, and walk into the garages, look in windows, bathe in swimming pools, etc etc.

I do the same thing, I even make an effort to go into every flea market/antique shop I pass while driving. One of these days!

I am guilty of it all, garages (sales) estate sales, laundromats, everywhere i can think there'd be a game I look when I drive, walk or run by....to me you never know and its fun to hunt.

Re:

Yes, I always do that, I actually recently got lucky when I pulled up to my work, and right across the alley way was a cocktail table. It was some cheap SNK table which was in ok shape. I could not gather the courage to go to the house, so I just waited to see someone outside and finally asked if it was for sale, and I got it for 10 dollars.

I'm sure everyone on this forum does this.I'm still waiting to see one at a garage sale. That'd be a huge reason for me to actually stop for one.

I would say around 1992, I was driving around and I saw an arcade game in this guys garage. I Stopped to check it out. it was a Ninja Warriors..

Driving by I picked up an asteroids from some guys front yard with a for sale sign on it.

Also diving close to my house I got a chicago coin rifle gallery.. I had seen it in his garage but I did not want to bug him. But he had taken it out for a yard sale, so I stopped to get it.

It's what I hate MOST about having a garage that faces the street. I will never - ever - buy a house that has a street facing garage again.

I used to do that pretty often, but a friend of mine looks into open garages more often yet. That's how about 10 of my best game-buys came about. He found them and called me up...

I do this all the time.
So far i have seen:
a pacman
a gyruss
a centipede
and a gorf all in different garages around the area where i live/goto school/work
