Here is my new lock pick set.

I can now do most coin doors and back doors in about 8 seconds.
Sometimes it gives me a had time and it takes a minute or so... and I am only doing very basic locks.

Very little practice and it works!

I will post a video of a back door tomorrow too, just to show it is just as easy... SOOOOOO much easier than drilling! :D

I was waiting for an excuse to pick up a set from the site someone linked in a thread last week, and this here is it, thanks. :) Looks like a massive time saver and somewhat less destructive than drilling for those like me who can be a bit uncoordinated at times.

*e* is that the plain ripple handle or the laminated ripple handles? How comfortable are they?

The set I bought have some of both. I wasnt sure which I was going to like more, so I bought a set with both. I am having a blast with this thing!

Well your really not picking that lock your "raking" it. And that only works for the simple locks. I have a couple of medium security locks and you actually have to pick them and feel for the shear line.

I've picked the backdoor locks on my Guerrilla War and Berzerk cabs with a paperclip.

Does that mean most all 80's games with original locks are that easy to pick?

There is a tool for barrel/tubular locks too, I just didnt get it. I have seen it used and I am serious when I say it takes far less effort than even this did...lol

I was not really raking this one I am actually rocking and looking for one particular pin in that one and pushing it in while keeping pressure in a clockwise direction with the tension tool.

Even the normal back door locks can go really quickly. I have done a handful of them in the past couple of days for practice. It is just a matter of keeping light pressure and depressing pins... getting them all to stay and be depressed. (So I tell them they wont amount to anything, and that nobody loves them...hehe)

I have not tried the barrel/tubular locks, but I am going to work a med security lock today. I did one last night but it took a while to figure out... so I want to practice on them a bit more.

It is fun... really fun!...lol I love learning new things like this.

By the way... I watched videos from a 15-16 year old kid teaching how to do this... and have watched him pick everything, even house locks and Master locks in less than 2 mins....lol Man am I glad I didnt have this when I was his age!

And even happier I have a Rottie as a back up for my house lock....lol

bjk7382, you want to see some raking... you should see me work a double sided waffer....lol

I practically strip those locks ...ROFL :D

When I was a car stereo/video installer. I had a set of flimsy car key picks/blanks and I was able to get into a coworkers Chevy (he locked his keys inside) pickup and it took me about 2 seconds to get in once I had the right blank. Needless to say, he got some higher quality locks for his doors afterwords. I could tell you some car door lock worry stories, but I'll save you the heartache of how easy it is to do some cars.....even with the wrong key on the wrong car...good thing newer cars has those RF ID chips.......

As Les Lye would always say.... "You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friend's nose".

nice job on the locks. Have you been able to pick cam locks with two tumblers...top AND bottom? Easy way to tell is your key has teeth on both edges.

thanks for posting that, ag. i've forgot how awesome that show is. haven't seen that in a long ass time.

i got my lockpick set in the mail yesterday. The game i was trying to get into was a double sided lock..or double wafer as the pros call it..i spent about an hour last night with no luck*cough* i mean skill. but today first try opened her right up. im very happy i bought them. no more drilling breaking bits dealing with all the metal shavings going everywhere..great investment for $20.
