Is a yoke that works on a WG K4900 compatible with a G07 chassis? I measured the ohms and it seems reasonable (H: 2.2 / V: 56.9).

but..........the tubes are interchangeable. So you could do a yoke swap.Nope
Generally speaking, by measuring the Ohms you will get an idea of whether it will work or not [as a "drop-in replacement"]. Otherwise you need to make sure the Neck pins are the same for each tube and then swap out the yoke [convergence work will need to be done to get it to look right]. I've compiled a list of Yoke readings I've encountered for tube swaps. I've done a couple videos on this documenting the process (Ohm list below is listed in the descriptions as well). Thanks guys, so how can you tell a yoke is compatible with a chassis? I had always thought it was the pin out and the ohms.
Just trying to learn, I have several monitors (most with burnt tubes) but I think I could swap a few here and there to get a few nice ones up and running.
While G07 yoke swaps are possible, they rarely end well. They are very difficult to converge. Good luck.I guess all I need to do is a tube swap then should be good to go.
Hey. If you're needing a g07 yoke, I will send you one if you send me your k4900 yokeJust curious, if a chassis is paired with a yoke that is not compatible....does it result in just a bad image or does it damage the chassis?
From what I understand, if it's close you may just have an image that is too small/big etc. However, it's WAY off, it could damage the deflection circuit and/or put strain on the chassis for sure.Just curious, if a chassis is paired with a yoke that is not compatible....does it result in just a bad image or does it damage the chassis?
