Yet another "will a cap kit fix this" query...

OK, so I replaced my Megatouch monitor (K7200) since it had a dying tube with an older Kaga/TSK KZ-19V monitor and a new Iso Transformer (since this one needs one and the K7200 didnt). It's having pincushion and sync issues (takes a few minutes to sync, and pincusion movement varies based on the game your playing, same goes for brightness). I think these issues are also messing with the touchscreen a little bit, it works, but loses sensitivity especially in the bottom corners (really messes up the phrase crazy game since all the letters are at the bottom). Monitor works fine otherwise and is getting a decent picture. Just curious if a cap kit might fix these issues.

Whatcha think?

A cap kit may help the sync and pincushion but neither of these should have any influence on how the touchscreen works (though the display may not be aligned with the touchscreen). Have you tried calibrating the touchscreen? What about the grounds? Do the monitor and touchscreen have good solid grounds?

If the touchscreen doesn't work properly after calibration - first make sure it is clean (no cigarette residue), then make sure the connector on the back of the controller is in good, then check the voltage to the controller...

I have 2 working controllers and have tried calibrating both, same results. I think the touchscreen is somewhat related, only because with the pincushion issue (among other issues with the monitor), the screen will basically change size and shape slightly depending on the game in play (and the touchscreen was working perfectly before the monitor swap). Now the monitor wont stop rolling without a manual turn of the v-hold pot every time on cold startup, and some screens (especially those with a light background) now have lines on the top half of the screen. Im starting to think this game is jinxed, wondering if Alva should be the answer here, I do have another tube and frame I could use. Guess Ill cap this one first and see what happens.
