Hey all, hopefully I didn't miss this thread if it's already been answered. I'm trying to learn whatever I can about monitor repair, and this one was complete junk when I got it the other day, so stick w/me :)

I would assume it would have something to do w/the flyback, but I just recapped a Wells K7901 and am having an issue w/the focus that I don't think was there before I started. It will focus perfectly and slowly come out of focus, focus, come out of focus etc.

Any quick suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Thanks for the quick response guys! The knobs are black - no visible gunk that I can see

Turn off the monitor, and rub dust off the flyback housing and hit it with a very bright light, or look at it in the sunlight.

Looking for things like this:

Also, make sure you didn't bend your focus pin on the neck when you were reattaching it. That happened to me once.

personaly i would replace the fly and be done with it.
i have had new looking old fly's and they were bad.

Peace
