I put some untested boards in my PP cab.
Now when I boot up I get a bunch of garbled graphics.

I tried sliding the edge connectors back some, didn't help.
I did adjust the AR2 board to get about 5.5 volts, was a little high at like 5.7.

I tested the power on the edge connectors for both the Video and CPU boards, and they are getting power. The LEDs on the boards are lit.

There is some acid corrosion from the battery which was removed when I got it, but doesn't look too horrible.

Upon visual inspection of the PCBs, there was no other visible damage.
The edge connector does not have any burns on it.
This is all the testing I have done as of yet.

Does anyone have a good starting place for me??? Please?

EDIT: forgot to mention that the test switch does not appear to have any affect on the system.

Its usually worse than it looks. If there is corrosion visible on the trace, chances are its creating some sort of resistance.

I need some help too... the PPII I have is about 95% running.
But has these issues:
- garbled/missing graphics on the title banner.
- The car is grey, not blue
- The Balloon banner "Prepare to qualify" is garbled
- The starting lights are a little funky...

Pics attached... I think the problem is solely on the video board.
Switching power to test points... (power is OK)

Gameplay, controls, and sound are all normal.

if you haven't wired all the test points on teh board (+5, ground ) to each other and ran them off of a switcher, that would be the first move in my opinion.

those garbled graphics on the banner are simply reseating that chip or replacing it. and do as tron guy said about a switcher. the ar boards may be working today but not for long.
