not an arcade or pin but a pachinko machine!!! bought it for 40.00 and it had a grounding problem and after working on it today got it running and played it for an hour! Everyone hates this machine (including the woman who sold it to me) "it makes too much noise" not for me i think it's awesome!!!don't know if they're popular here, but thought i'd share!

I haven't played one of the newer style pachinko's - I have one from the 1970's, with the lever that you flip to shoot the balls. It's pretty much silent, and pretty plain compared to the new stuff, but I find it kind of relaxing to sit there and flip the thing, trying to make shots (realistically you don't have that much control, just enough to make you think you can direct things, without it really being more than a game of chance). I'm not sure how I'd feel about the newer shooter systems.

Have you played one of the older ones? How do they compare?

no i haven't played the older machines but i'm in the hunt for one now! this is an older modern pachinko. probably from 1995/96. it has a dial on the handle that releases the balls. the more you turn the dial, the harder the balls are released. plenty of lights and sounds! get the ball in the "play" chute and it starts the lcd screen slot machine type jackpot and cartoons to boot!

Nice pachinko machine! I love those newer models. I have an older 70s one but would like to upgrade some time.

Have a similar model but without the LCD. Bought mine for $70 fully working. I've had moderate interest in them just to add more to my gameroom. Always looking for more stuff that is unique to add to the gameroom.

i couldn't go wrong!!! for only fourty bucks it was semi working and although i knew parts for this machine were next to impossible to find, the woman who sold it said i was the only person to respond (and she had it listed off and on for almost a year) she said she could really use the cash so i said "why not? i'm up for a challenge" i like the vintage packinkos and the new ones look awesome but i think i'm partial to the mid 80's to mid 90's models!

"why not? i'm up for a challenge"

LOL

Never played one of these before, I want to see what all the hype is about.

a lot of people i find get them and sell them soon after. again, complaints of too much noise, not much skill involved, no gameplay. i don't see it. i love it. and bungy i spoke to a customer last night who's got a few he's looking to unload so you may get your chance!

i had no idea they still made those, where do you find new ones? i used to play one back in the early 80's at a friends house. as far as skill level goes i think that would be awesome for kids and drunk guys lol i will have to look them up now. thanks for the post

e-bay's got'em but shipping is usually unavailable or pricey! retail places have 'em too (stealth home amusements/pachislo.com) but those are retail. (usually 300-400 dollars with shipping) i'd hit up craigs list and make a small investment(in case you don't like it) but they do look awesome! the early machines (up to the late 70's) just shoot the balls. the early to mid eighties incorporate slot machine reels in the center and activates when a bonus is hit. the early to mid ninety machines(my fav) have the old style pin playfield with an lcd screen (video slot machine with cartoons) and the modern (2000 an up) are completely state of the art(video, bumpers, motion) again, i'm not a pachinko expert! i'm just getting started in this hobby. i'm sure there are people more qualified than me, i'm just relaying what i've learned so far from my research!
