there are two sets of dip switches on the game adjacent to each other and I just set the dip switches for freeplay like it says to in the owners manual

my galaga board doesnt do anything different when i set it to freeplay,i read those dip settings that said it had freeplay too,i think it may be bullshit though.

Yes I know this but what I am asking you is what switch did you change? I can't really help you figure out why things are happening without knowing what you did to cause the reset issue.
Yes I could take the time and look at the manual and find the switch for free play and follow the circuit to possible problems. It would be much better if I know just what switch you changed and to on or off. I like to help others fix there stuff and it helps if I/we know what you did. If you want to keep it to yourself, then as far as I am concerned you are on your own.
It also helps to know if the board is an original, bootleg, Jamma, single board, dual board.
