So I picked up a Vigilante off of CL yesterday for a really good price. The main reason I got it was because of how clean it is- cpo, marquee & bezel are immaculate, the side art is still intact and the monitor is crystal clear. I think the art is kinda cool, especially the cpo. I had visions of this being a 60 in 1, but after some thought last night, I'm wondering what YOU would do:

1. Rotate the monitor, change the bezel to make it a 60 in 1 and sit beside my Karate Champ since it's the same cab.

2. Rotate the monitor, change the bezel to make it a 60 in 1 and sell it.

3. Make it a 60 in 1, install Multicade art package and sell it.

4. Buy a 19 in 1 for it and sit beside my Karate Champ since it's the same cab.

5. Leave it as the lame Vigilante game and begin to collect only Data East cabs...

Here are some pics:

hmmmm. it appears to be dedicated from the klov listing. i'd keep it as is, maybe use it as a horizontal jamma cab. that looks too cool to 60-1 it.

I think it was a Karate Champ conversion- the flyer shows the other DECO cab. Mine doesn't have the rounded marquee:

Of the options you listed, I'd go with #5, but you can swap in other 2 button JAMMA games too.

Your machine looks like it was converted from Kung Fu Master, so I'd probably restore it to KFM and put it next to Karate Champ. The dedicated Vigilante uprights I've seen had a slightly different profile and an odd control panel.

Number 5. What a nice looking machine. You are awesome at finding sweet deals. First the P.O.W. and now this. Keep it that way. I've never played Vigilante but side scrolling beat em ups are awesome. Data East games are awesome too. You got so many to pick from: Karnov, Robocop, Caveman Ninja, Heavy Barrel, Kung Fu Master, and one of my personal grails, Sly Spy just to name a few. God I wish I would've took that game out of that stupid laundromat. :bawling:

Yep, you're right. It had to have been a Kung Fu Master, since this was basically the upgraded "sequel". I suck at KFM and it is now confirmed as of last night I suck at Vigilante.

If you can pick up and keep the nunchuks, you can get through the entire game without losing a guy. :)

I would leave it orgininal and wouldn't mess with is, looks like a nice ded machine to me.

It looks to be in nice condition. I'd leave it as is and if you don't like the game try and sell or trade it. The 60-1 option works better in a cab that has 1 of the 60 games on it IMO. It's funny how sometime you can find games in great condition you don't want, when all the games you want all you can find is beat ass junk. - Barry

I *had* one in a dedicated DE Cabinet with the curved marquee. It's now a Strider :)

Anyone need a curved marquee? I still have it!

Leave it as is since it's all original. If you can't stand the game, sell it to someone who loves the game, and find a beater cab for your 90 n 1 conversion. Think preservation...
