Picked up a Judge Dredd yesterday from an op I've gotten to know pretty good. This was payment in exchange for working on a few of his pins. The display driver needs replaced(burnt traces) and basically tearing down and shopping the rest. There was a sticker on the playfield glass where he had replaced it. The sticker was from 2003 and he said the game had sat there since. It is very dirty, but will clean up very nice. I will probably wait a few months until I get done with his pins and get some extra funds.

The fun didn't stop there as I took my nephew with me and we went to Galactic Fun Zone in columbia for his birthday. We played games there for at least 2 hours. They had 6 pins there:

Dr. Who
South Park
Simpsons Pinball Party
Big Buck Hunter
Elvis
Dr Dude

Awesome!!!! I have been trying to establish a relationship with my local op. This will be a work in progress for sure. I broke the ice with him on my NO Fear. But I think he thought he was dumping a problem on me when it was just that his tech/buddy couldn't figure it out in a reasonable amount of time.
Not going to give up on him though. he is a great older guy. I have to be careful though, because his buddy might think there are too many roosters in the hen house. LOL

I wonder how long you keep the Judge Dredd before you move on to a new one though.

It will be a long time, maybe never. This one makes 21 pins and I'm trying to get plenty of variety in the line up.

I hear you on the op situation. I bought 2 pins from this guy and offered to help him out before he started to trust me. Lucky for me, he has no tech. He does what he can by himself or sends components out for repair. He says he almost feels bad about dumping his junk on me to try to fix.

nice grab, been looking for the right dredd recently too, not my first choice but on my top 5. hey do you do the KLOV pinball league, can't remember? you should you def have some machines that are already qualified and it's simple/fun. check out the sticky

I should, but between work and working on this op's games, my games have just been collecting dust.

JD is a great game. Congrats on getting one with the topper too! I don't have that topper on mine and I'd love to get one.

Some people say it's important to add the deadworld mod. I disagree. It's a "destructive" mod as far as I'm concerned. It may add the ability to stagger the multiballs being introduced, but the only ROM code available that supports it requires the game to be on free play and I don't like having a game, even if it's in my living room, that can't be set up like a standard coin-op game. I don't see any great reason to add the deadworld feature when it really has a negligible effect on gameplay and means you can't ever put the game on location unless you remove the mods.

I had thought about adding the dead world mod. It will be later on though as it needs other parts first.

I had one - was my first DM pin. Very nice and easy to shop and it never crapped out during a party. I did not do the dead world mod. Rare to see one with a topper - great score.
