Well, I rarely post my pick ups, but I thought this one was pretty cool. I picked up an Astro Invader off of CL. I just so happened to be in the area on an appointment, gave a call to the lady and 5 minutes later I was loading it.

Got it home, plugged it in and got a repeated beeping with red bars on the screen. I only had 10 minutes to mess with it, so I checked the voltages and all seemed to be good. When I have time, I'll mess with it more. The side art is still in nice shape!

Anyone want an Astro Invader for cheap??!!! ;)

very cool looking cab! I had no idea how retro it until I created a model of it. That art is awesome!

It can be a fun game, but only if there isn't much else around.

The mothership comes in and drops off aliens in little holding columns. When the columns are full, any additional alien dropped there falls to the surface and causes a splatter/explosion that will kill you if you get touched by it. Random larger ships descend from one of three bays and destroy you if they land before being shot.

Time your shots well because you get one at a time. You can get a good rhythm going and play a long time.

The motherships carry batches of 200 aliens. They alternate between dropping off the aliens in an orderly pattern in the holding columns and randomly dropping them off.

I thought it was a black & white game with an overlay, but klov says differently. It was very EARLY color if you know what I mean...

I recall playing this a lot at the local 7-11, but not being a master by any means.

One of my favorite....I use to play it back in the day when it was new in the arcade! Dating myself.

This game (not this partivular one) was in a Tom Petty music video back in the early 80's...can't remember the name of the song. But he knocks the game over!!!

Remembered playing in at a pizza place in the early 80's....Pretty cool game!
I was always in awe of the artwork back then!

Pretty cool! Well, I can tell you this wasn't the one that they used for the video- the cabinet is rock solid. I love that it's not MDF either!
