...of game rooms that is...

finally paid Jeremy a visit and got to see his new game room. What was supposed to be a simple monitor purchase and quick visit ended up being an all day affair and the purchase of more parts and a cocktail multicade project. I spent some time in awe of this awesome game room, spent some time playing games, spent some time talking about games and repairs and road trips and game room plans, I can go on and on. Anyways, with Jeremy's blessing, heres some video and a slide show:

And Jeremy, since you were curious, heres what I have planned if I ever get this cave finished. Thanks again, I'm sure we will be back to visit sometime soon.

What's the square footage of your "cave"?
Me?

The total square footage including the shop area is about 1200 SQ. Ft... only problem is our house is 50 years old and the floor has some minor issues near the shop area you see, so thats why the game room ends there. The access hallway in back needs to be in place to access the breaker panel, sump pump and wall jacks (theres 8 of them bad boys in the back wall). So it basically leaves me about 150 sq. ft for utility/bath and about 500, maybe a little more for the game room.

Lots of wasted space in that Work Area... Move your work area upstairs to the kitchen and put more games in... LOL

Um, yeah, I want to stay married :D

Office is already crammed with home console goodies so no need to ask about that either.

Where's some more info on bob the bot?
Jeremy could shed some more light on that. From what I gather he built it awhile back and it acually started with a Commodore 64 IIRC, and eventually progressed to what you see now. I didnt really ask about details on what it can do but it is on wheels and motorized, has a camera and remote. I just thought it was really neat and he obviously put alot of heart & soul into it, so I couldnt not mention it in the video.
Thanks for sharing the video. All the banging in the background... is that the child trying to break into the coindoors? lol
No, that was the kids playing the basketball game.

It's still your high score on the Baby Pacman. As far as Bob the Bot, it started with a C64, SPO256 speech processor, hard relays for the motors, LED's for the face back and programmed in BASIC in my college days. This is now the 3rd incarnation of him, using WinXP on a laptop, Speech API's for natural speech, DirectX 3D for the face, Pulse Width Modulation for speed motor control and a lot of programming using VB6. THe motors are powerful enough to tow around a wagon with my kid in it, makes the remote control function kind of fun. He also has limited AI, so you can type in a sentence using the keyboard and he will respond back in speech.
