Yes! Another chuck E Cheese brawl makes national headlines

Winston-Salem is much better than Memphis but, in my opinion, it can't hold a candle to Portland, Tacoma, or Seattle. There is a different philosophy towards life and the rights of others that would be considered weakness in the south...

All my wife's side of the family lives in Indiana, Kentucky, and The Carolinas. They are all way over-nice and outward social butterflys (way too talkative for me). Is this what you mean by Different philosophy of life? In your opinion, are people over there nicer in general than people over here?

The "niceness" in the south is usually only skin deep. They'll stab you in the back as soon as doing so benefits them. The social aspect seems to only be a fishing expedition looking for weakness as well. I'd much rather have a ramdom woman in the supermarket simply walk past me than strike up a conversation that ends in back-handed compliments.

If you are different - be it race, color, creed, religion, sexual preference, drive a Ford instead of a Chevy (or whatever car make they find to be the only good one), or live in an area that they find objectionable - then you are suddenly the enemy. I was blind to it until I left the area for a few years and then returned.

In the PNW most people will not bother speaking to you but they wont steal things out of your shopping cart at the grocery store (referring to products that you haven't yet paid for, not a wallet or purse) and they will not jump ahead of you in line and act like it is your fault.

Aaaahhhhh. I see. So what are you trying to say? You drive a Chevy???? You son-of-a...! I knew you would! People like YOU always drive Chevys!

Pffft! You USED to be cool!...

...
Chevy lover.

I'd like to point out that this is not ALL of the people in the south, but it is a high enough percentage that I miss being home.

And I do not drive a Chevy, I prefer to be able to avoid road noise at speeds above 35 mph by rolling up the window. I have never been in an American built car that is capable of doing this...

And that, folks, is why I'm Pro-Choice and in favor of "sterilization"...some people just should not procreate. I guarantee you that fellow Tennesseeans are "supporting" their lifestyle. Ugh...

Sorry, I know I'm a horrible person, but it had to be done....

Beale Street is awesome. That is all.

That's the perception of many that don't live here. Beale St. & Elvis....

But once you get here and realize it's so much more (or less depending on how you look at it) the magic quickly fades away.

Really? Man, the last car I had was a Park Avenue. You couldn't hear ANYTHING from inside of there. It really made the road noise noticable when I rode in different cars.

Wow thanks for branding us all.

Yes, really. Though I don't think I have been in a Park Avenue (Lincoln right?) since the mid 1990's. I don't care for the ride quality of US luxury and pseudo-luxury cars either - too soft.

I did make a point that it is not everyone in a later post. I have met quite a few good guys in my annual trips to Virginia.

I see that now... I stopped reading right at that point :)

Here's a wakeup call though... 99% of humanity sucks no matter where you are :)

I remember being so naive, until I took a tech support phone job out of High School and learned just how stupid most people are. Its not about technology knowledge its about common sense.

So who wants to bet a buck these assholes come back when the one in the oven is ready for a birthday...:D Round 2.."Lets get ready to rumble"

I bet you are right!!! We don't take the kids to Chuck E Cheese anymore since Dave and Busters opened up. Its a much nicer place to play games and they have the redemption games the kids love. One of these days I'll get my son and daughter playing the racing games with me!

It's not EVERYWHERE but each area has enough of a stereotype that it's too much to handle.

I love the Pacific Northwest, and I love California. I've lived in Miami, Chicago, Vegas, etc...I moved to Nashville and what strikes me is that MOST people, not ALL are closet racists, sexist people that think women should walk behind them, talk shit about them, but open doors for them and are protective of them? (WTF?)

Most guys out in Tennessee have chips on their shoulder and really draw the fine line between arrogance and confidence.

Again, not ALL, but it's definitely a culture shock from anywhere I have lived.
